Three Horseshoes 3 Brewery Tap 2
Game 1 - Mal put his first one-up behind the 50 hole and Gareth proceeded to build a lead. Didn`t see the shot, but he somehow lost his break and Mal cleared up with 6k. 1 - 0
Game 2 - Mario broke off with 2k+, Geoff got them back and he also put the ball past the 50 hole. Steve then built an unnasailable lead. 1 - 1
Game 3 - Nigel opened with 3k giving me a chance, but a strongly hit 30/10 shot saw both balls whip out. Nigel retrieved the balls to win the point. 1 - 2
Game 4 - Enter our little known guest player.............3timeschamp .Has he ever been away from the game? Certainly didnt look like it when he opened with 9800, finishing with over 14k against Richard. Watch out in Jersey you people :-/ 2 - 2
Game 5 - Chris opened with nearly 4k. Ian got the balls back and won the point with an 8k break. 3 - 2
Not sure when the return is, the Tap side need to find a new home :P

Brewery Tap 6 (3) - Three Horseshoes 5 (2) - Brewery Tap win deciding leg.
An epic match at the Brewery Tap tonight. The Horseshoes will wonder how they lost this one, after they took a 2-0 lead and 5-2 aggregate lead. The Tap faught back with the next 3 legs to level the match and force a decider between KT and Nigel. An early mistake let Nigel in to seal the title for the Tap for the third successive year.
The scores
Chris Reeves 4,830* -13,760 Kevin Tunstall Gareth Lloyd 350 - 12340* Rik Dewdney Nigel Senior 7,640 - 5,600* Geoff Jukes Steve Mariner 11,150* - 0 Mal Spier Richard Wooton 3,700 - 3,580* Ian Lelliott
Decider Nigel Senior 11,130* - 450** Kevin Tunstall
Game 1 - Chris off early from a missed first split hitting the red in front of the 50. He went down the back but was off on a missed 20. This offered KT a big chance, which he took - hitting 10k.
Game 2 - Rik Dewdney was faultless hitting 10k and giving Lloydy no chance. Things looked dire now for the Tap 5-2 down on aggregate with 2 breaks to come for the Horseshoes.
Game 3 - Geoff opened with 4,700, and Nigel got the balls back. A thick split missing the red and then no result with putting balls down the back of the table saw Nige off at 3,500. Geoff got the balls back and looked set to win but hit a split thin and got away with it as the white went over the 50 hole. Balls back Geoff then hit another split thin but the luck was less kind and he took the white peg out giving Nigel the break back. A 4k break form Nige kept the Tap in it.
Game 4 - Super sub Steve Mariner was superb beating Mal with a 10 k opener. This made the score 5-4
Game 5 - Perhaps the worst game both these players have ever played. Ian missed his second break shot with the white whipping and was soon off. A couple of visitis each and Ian got them back and made a 3k lead before whipping the one up. Richard then got them back and made 2k before putting the one inside the 50 - you could now smell the tension (or was it Lloydy :D )! Richard gets them back again but missed the one up putting the white round the back of the 50 ???. Time was running out now, but Rich got one final chance which he ever so calmly took :P making an 800ish break to win by 120.
Game 6 (decider). KT's first break and I think seeing a 5-2 lead slip may have been still on his mind as he missed his 3rd break shot leaving both balls up short. Nigel got up to 5k and whipped the white on the 50. A few panicky shots followed but the break was retreived until he got a kick on 9k, putting him around 9k up with 9 minutes left. It was a slim chance for Kev but the balls were awkward and he did not get them back straight away which he needed to to have any chance.
A great final, probably one of the most tense games I have been involved in - and now the Tap have got to go through it all again on Sunday. Hard luck to the Horseshoes, but they trully played their part in a great final. We shall play them again Wednesday in the Brighton league.

Well done to my team who held it together to make the comeback. And very well done to Nigel who played the 11th leg. A great night of bar billiards, the Horseshoes had us well on the ropes.
Good luck to my team on Sunday, and to our guest player whoever that might be !
