Nigel, have contacted Dave. Only two teams would ever make the trip and both have players unavailable so Cambs. will not be represented.

Nigel
Could you make sure that Debbie Barton (was Surman), Enid Wain and Ruth Collett are on the list for the Special Ladies please? They informed Dave at Reading so I assume he is aware but they are not on the above list. Jane W and Jenny P can't make it this year unfortunately.
thanks Tony

Congratulations to the Brewery Tap on becoming All England team champions. They beat Caversham WMC (BERKS) in the final 4-0.
Congrats also to Jean on winning the Special Ladies open, beating in form Chris Toner in that final. A big well done to Lady H :-* on recording her highest break ever of 7,090 against Jean. She just caught Hayley to win by 400 in their quarter final.
Well done to Dave Alder and his helpers for a well run day :)

Thanks for the congratulations guys, it was a happy car on the way home with me and Marc having won the team champs and Jean the ladies tournament ;D.
A few more details of the Team Champs
The 8 county champs were drawn into 2 groups of 4 and it was more kind to the 2006 runners up Brewery Tap from Sussex, (who were drawn in Group 2) than the other favoured contenders from Oxon, Berks and Surrey. So Group 1 was tougher with Berks double winners (2001 & 2004) Caversham WMC, 2006 champs the Horse & Harrow from Oxon and the South Park Constitutional Club from Surrey who reached the final in 2005.
Group 1 saw the Oxon and Berks teams get off to flyers with 5-0 wins. Berks coming against Surrey, and Oxon's against the team from Hants. This made the game between Caversham (Berks) and the Horse & Harrow (Oxon) crucial. It went 2-2, before Dave Alder made a cracking opener of 8k on tough table 8 to beat Den Atkins, and put his Caversham (Berks) side a leg up with one match to play. A 4-1 win by Caversham (Berks) against LHFA (Hants) meant the other match was academic and although South Park (Surrey) beat Horse & Harrow (Oxon) 3-2, the Oxon side were second in the group
Group 1 P W L Score Player Ave Pts C Caversham WMC, Berks 3 3 0 120,390 8,026 12 D Horse & Harrow, Oxon 3 1 2 85,390 5,693 9 B South Park Con Club, Surrey 3 2 1 75,790 5,053 7 A Langstone Harbour Fishing, Hants 3 0 3 36,380 2,425 2
Group 2 was dominated by the Brewery Tap (Sussex). They started with a 4-1 win over the Royal Standard (Bucks). A 4-1 win over the Burton Latimer CC (Northants) followed. The White Hart (Kent) also suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Brewery Tap. The Burton Latimer CC (Northants) recovered well from their 4-1 defeat gainst the Tap to beat the other teams 4-1 to make second place in the group. Their match could with the Tap could have been closer but Chris Lawman lost a tight game with Chris Reeves (after many goes at the break), as did Ian Coleman to Marc Chipman putting the Tap 2-0 up, Simon Coleman played well against Dave Reeves to make it 2-1, but Nigel Senior and Gareth Lloyd won big legs to take that match 4-1 and that effectively settle the group
Group 2 P W L Score Player Ave Pts E Brewery Tap, Sussex 3 3 0 106,060 7,071 12 G Burton Latimer CC, Northants 3 2 1 71,780 4,785 9 F White Hart, Kent 3 1 2 46,360 3,091 5 H Royal Standard, Bucks 3 0 3 47,520 3,168 4
Final
Brewery Tap 4 - 0 caversham WMC
Gareth Lloyd 10,320 - 2,490* Paul Sainsbury Nigel Senior 5,300* - 230 Keith Lewendon Chris Reeves 8,000 - 7,390* Dave Alder Marc Chipman 5,280* - 2,590 Tony Walsh Dave Reeves v Bernie McCluskey not played
Keith Lewwndon won the toss and elected after much deliberation (he went back 3 times to confer with his team ::)) breaks 1,3 & 5. It was a bit of a blow as I had wanted those breaks for my team. 4-0 may sound convincing but it could have been very different. Nigel and Marc were soon off in their opening breaks, and Dave Alder was in full flow against Chris Reeves. Gareth and Paul were struggling to assert themselves in their game. Keith only made 150 off his opener against Nigel, and Nigel made a 5k lead with his next attempt at the break, a handy and eventually decisive lead on tough table 3. Dave Alder missed on 7,390, at which point Chris made his attmept to clawback the defecit and about the same time Marc got the break back against Walshie now about 2k down. Chris overhauled Dave Alder with a magnificent 8k, and Marc banged in a cracking 4k break to beat poor Walshie. While this was going on Lloydy had got 10k against Paul Sainsbury on the other side of the room. So all of a sudden it was 4-0 ;D And the title was finally on the way to the Tap ;D
Surrey's Jim Greensted made a top break of 16,320. The 3 Tap players Nigel Senior, Chris Reeves, & Gareth Lloyd were unbeaten with 4 wins. Ernie Jordan (Bucks) and Simon Coleman (Northants) won all 3 of their group games. Highest average? 9,163 to a certain Nigel Senior :D Player Averages

Special Ladies - Jean Brackenridge made 3 great comebacks in her 4 matches to win the title. She was in trouble 4k down against Debbie Barton who played very well. She also pipped Hayley Tunstall, after Hayley made that great break in the 2nd leg. She led most of the her semi against Myra, and got her own back on All England Ladies champ Chris Toner with a 3k break at the death to win the final. Chris' great run of recent form continued with a win over Pauline Withey in the quarter final. A much better turnout for the ladies - good to see 20 ladies making the trip for this competition
Many thanks to Dave Alder for his considerable efforts during the day

Just like to add my congrats to the Brewery Tap and an awesome result in the final although I think if Surrey had not been caught cold in the 1st match we would have given you a closer/tougher test. But no taking it away you did the job!
And Jean also making it a Sussex double well done Jean :)

May I add my congratulations to the Brewery Tap for winning the Team Championship for the first time, I thought you might win it this year.
Well done to Jean on her fine win in the final against Chris who nearly made it a superb double after being crowned All England Ladies Champion a few weeks before.....How many times is that now?
Also well done to Hayley on improving her highest ever break, she must have given Jean a real fright in their Quarter Final match.
Who won the Special Ladies Plate? or have I missed it somewhere!
I suppose that also went back to Sussex. ;)
Keith :-* :-* :-*

Keith, yes we should mention the plate winner,...., that was Dawn Jordan, who beat Carla Jolly in the final. Sussex would have had trouble winning this one as no Sussex ladies went into the plate (only Hayley and Jean made the trip from Sussex out of the 20 ladies)
I made it Chris' 5th AE ladies title, just one behind Jan Taylor, and 5 behind Viv Wright who has won 10.
