Three Horse Shoes (5) Albion (0)
Ian Lelliott took the first leg making the table look very easy with a 10k+ opening break followed by myself, nigel and Lady H making hard work of the table. KT took the final leg being 8k down with a score just over 10k in three seperate breaks.

Montreal 4-1 Brewery Tap
Great night last night and the winners from the Montreal were D.Robins, M.Barsby,B.Mechan and S.Burns. The winner for the Tap was A.Ewen.
As we have 7 players this season with Wayne back on board i am adopting a Rafael Benitez team rotation tactic. After last nights win i may struggle to get a game next week.

Wellie 4 - 1 Romans A(?)
A good and fun night at the Wellie. We have started to defend our title with a win against Toni Hunt's team. The result and scores (which I don't have) do not really show how close this match was.
Game 1. Gary beat Sleepy, but if Sleepy had not knocked the black over....... Game 2. I played Toni's Granddaughter. Playing like a prat, I just managed to overcome my 2k handicap to win by 70. Game 3. I didn't see much of this game. Nick Simmons played Dave Roberts. Nick Won. Game 4. Dave our new Captain played a guy I have seen before but cannot remember his name (plays in Worthing). Dave played about the best of all of us and won by, I think, over 2k. Game 5. Roy managed to find someone to take over the bar so he could play Toni. From about half way through the game it became close. It finished with Roy needing the red in the 200 to win. After he had 2 attempts at it, Toni put him out of his misery and potted in the 100 to win the last game.
As I said a good night with plenty of joking, banter and Nick eating a piece of pizza for the first time.

Romans B 0 - 5 Windmill
A no show from the Romans team meant that we had an easy start to the competition. Spent the rest of the evening playing among ourselves, bar billiards that is ::) for those of you with funny minds.
Wish people would contact either the other team or preferably the landlord of where they would be playing to tell them they are not coming. It does save a lot of wasted time, especially if the landlord has gone to the effort of providing food >:(.
Otherwise, we had a good evening and look forward to playing the Montreal at our place next week. :)

Sorry to hear the Romans did not turn up Dave, I actually spoke to Colin Green on Saturday and he knew that he was playing you guys at the Romans so I don't know why they didn't show.

Dave as you say an easy evening, but I must of missed out on the playing with ourselves.
Must say that it is a shame that teams enter and then fail to show or even contact their own venue. Thanks to the Romans staff for their concern over the no show, but it was not their problem.
Look forward to next weeks game against the Montreal as it is always a pleasure to play them and a good bit of banter will be the format for the evening.
