I am working on a system whereby Andy can enter all of the match results into the website himself, which should negate the need for Andy to spend time scanning result cards and emailing them to me for me to do the database update manually.
While the system is being developed, the website is suffering from a distinct lack of information! We've now had 3 sets of league matches and last night Andy told me he's still waiting on 3 result cards from last Monday's matches. There's not much point in me updating the site with scraps of information here and there as it will become confusing.
Can we please become a bit more diligent in getting information to Andy? If it means nominating someone from each team to email the results through as well as post the result cards to Andy, then that is something we should consider. The results could be posted on this forum, but either way, we all want up to date information about the league standings before we play our matches on a Monday, so let's try and make it happen!

hi Julian,
Last 2 results for White horse A are:
13/10/08 White horse B 1 - 4 White horse A
20/10/08 White Horse A 4 - 1 Floods Tavern
Hopefully Will has posted the cards to Andy. And what's going on...White Horse A...top of the league (Div 2)...it won't last!!!

Thanks Chris, and congrats on an excellent start to the season.
Do you have the scores per game as well as the overall match results? I can update the player stats then too :-)

Hi Jules,
I had the same problem too when running my site, sometimes it would miss several teams for multiple weeks, which is a headache.
Earle beat me in the singles and Liam beat Keith if you want to put that on your site as some results??
Ha funny avatar, thing is i can't smile ;D ;) (or so i'm told) ;)
Floods beat Waggon 3-2 at home too!

Ha funny avatar, thing is i can't smile ;D ;) (or so i'm told) ;) Who told you that you can't smile?! My avatar is supposed to be artistic... A vectorised image of me on a graduated background that will blend from the top or the bottom depending on which background colour my post is on. I'm not a fan of stock avatars or animated GIF images and my pet hate is images that have been squidged and thus become all pixelated, so I created my own!

I'm not a fan of stock avatars or animated GIF images and my pet hate is images that have been squidged and thus become all pixelated, so I created my own! How did you do it? Simple answer... Adobe Photoshop! I use Photoshop as part of my job, and I'd wanted to find a quick way of creating a vector image for some cartoon style graphics to use on the website I was working on at the time. I tried using a plug-in that could turn an image into a vector style of image, and tested it out on an image of me. It wasn't useful for the project I needed it for, but I liked what it had done with my head so I kept it! It wasn't hard to create a 100x100 image, colour it in with the gradient fill tool and then resize the image of my head to plonk it on top. I'm not a graphics expert by any means, but I know enough of Photoshop to do all sorts of things, like removing red-eye from photos, airbrushing out spots, distorting an image to make Kate Moss look fat... It's an amazing piece of software.

Hi Julian,
The Floods lost 4-1 to white horse a. Plus white horse A beat their b side 5-0 so they should have 13 points.

Hi Jules,
Just to let you know the the White Horse A game at Bottisham on Monday (27th) was postponed, to be rearranged at a later date.
Rumours that we couldn't get a team together are completely unfounded. Being the kind souls that we are, we thought we'd give some of the other teams in Div 2 a bit of a chance. ;)

No worries Chris, Andy sent all the cards he had yesterday so the website is as up to date as it can be!
