Plough 3, Handcross Z 2
Mark Potter 2050, John Turner 1230 Geoff Parsons 1880, Graham Daniels 1660 (Graham had first go at 200 to win, and Geoff gratefully potted the 100) 2-0 to Plough
At this stage the Zeds were staring a 0-5 defeat in the face, I was actually forming the words/excuses for a Forum report in my mind. ;D
Des Gasson 1550, Johnny Haigh 2930 (sparklingform and not a foot wrong this time from Johnny) 2-1 Keith Potter 2040, tommo 3040 (Keith played some beautiful shots, especially around the left hand 50, tommo reduced to desperate measures and stole it at the end.) 2-2
Mark Webber 3270, MrMike007 2470 (a role reversal of game 4 - really Mick's game but Mark stole it at the death) 3-2 to Plough.
Well played to the Plough and thanks for a pleasant if noisy evening (incredible Arsenal v Spurs 4-4 game on the box). The 'Doorstep' sandwiches were tasty, too. ;)

CKRBL 2-3 Laughing Fish
Derek Taylor 0 (BP) v 2560 Chris Ashford
Both struggling with the table, but a careful and steady game from Chris got him the win.
Ted Stringer 1860 v 1220 Andy Brooks
Again lots of struggling, with balls whipping out for both left right and centre!
Dilly Williamson 2650 v 1620 Ray Carpenter
Close throughout most of the game, with a few breaks late on from Dilly to get the win.
Jenny Edwards 1830 v 2390 H
By this point are we seeing a theme?
Peter Edwards 1620 v 1850 Les Whiteman
Yet another close struggle. Peter was ahead for the most but Les made a very steady late comeback to clinch the match for the Fish!
Well. All I can say is the table was up to its usual standards, and congratulate my team for being able to win on it. Commiserations to the those who lost since all 5 games could have gone either way tonight!

Hurst b 2 Hurst a 3
firstly can i just say what an excellent night out was tonight not only for the scores that happened but the banter and most of all proud to see rolly play an excellent opening game as you will all hear about :)
game 1 Ian g 640 rolly hall 6490 rolly made a poor start but soon capitalized with a 2.5k break and continuing with a few more good breaks after poor Ian sunk the break 4 times. but well done rolly n 0-1 to Hurst A
game 2 john l 1290 Roy wells 3170
the scores don't match what an excellent game this was unfortunately this wasn't to be for john with once again sinking the balls for times after a poor start and Roy missing the ball on a 3k break but it was Roy that made sure there was already a 2k lead before this happened. 0-2 to Hurst A :)
game 3
Chris k 530 bob hall 6920
after last weeks performance i thought i was going to be OK but after coming off at 600 i was not happy wen Chris got the break back then unfortunately pegged an 1800 break only for me to be given the break back and knock in 1800 in reply before a poor leave by myself in which i came off. Chris then once again retrieved the balls only for me to predict that there was a four down coming up and this concluded to happen. with me at this stage haven been sitting on a 5k score with a break in the middle a made sure that i pipped rollys score at the post only for him to start laughing. 0-3 :) :) :) :) :)
game 4
Steve the master king 8140 peter hall 3540
with Steve off early with about 2k and then dad matching Steve finally got the break back and touched up after 5+k and peter retrieved the balls but time ran out but what an excellent game.
game 5 Darrell skinner 7880 s Evans 640
steph sunk the break 4 down and Darrell made sure that he wasn't going to lose tonight and played an excellent finally leg and an excellent end to the night
great food and company

With our new superstars away on a well earned holiday, it was all remaining hands to the pump to visit the Brewers Droops this week, including the injured and limping Tony. Unfortunately for Tony, the Farmer decided to take pity on him by keeping him seated for most of the game!
Droops 4 Sportsman 1 :'(
Sherriff 2940 Sir T 990 :'( Sir Jock 8970 Gary Foster 190 :'( (Including a fine 6K+ opening break) Mama 2130 Ros 4520 :) The Farmer 5870 Tony Driver 760 :'( Noddy 2520 Lady Pamela 260 :'(
A good sociable evening with plenty of banter though, with a scary moment when Sir Jock came off the table at one point with a score of 6660, I suggested he should change his name to McDamien. ;)

ROYAL OAK 2 BREWERS BRAVOS 3 A sucsessful sortie into enemy territory for the bravos.
Anne Stockinger:1020 Paul Moyes-robb:2630 Paul gets back to his winning ways with a well played match against an unlucky Anne. No big breaks from Paul but happy just to have the break for once! Russel Jennings:1990 PTG:4540 Russel started well with the first 1k break of the evening. Bravo looked a bit worried for a while but eventually got the hang of the top and put in 1k and a final 2k to finish. Jan Hinkins:1780 Spud:B/P Oh dear. Having been left 300 behind when the bar dropped, i panicked and attempted some wildly over-ambitious shot. The black peg going down was the well deserved result. I now owe my team three rounds of drinks! Well played to Jan, who outplayed and outscored me for pretty much all of this match Val Gritton:510 Lynne Moyes-robb:1030 Lynne cleans up my mess and extends her winning streak in this solid effort. Sensible play is rewarded on a tricky top. John Broadhurst:2400 Nikki Hinkins:780 Mr. Broadhurst claims a consolation point for his team in a well-played game. Nikki struggles to get going but puts the ball down the 200 hole at the end to finish off the evening!
Comiserations to the Royal Oak, who were superb hosts. The much-famed grub was not a disapointment and we will look foward to the return match.

The one missing write-up from the week's set of matches, TIR obviously being too modest to herald his team's success. ;) This, courtesy of the OldFella:
Watermill A 1, Greyhound 4 The 'A' Team lost their 100% record against a rejuvenated Greyhound at Worlds End. Peter Burchell got the visitors off to a great start with a exciting 7090 followed by wins for Paul Goodwin and Geoff Fairs to sow up the match win. Big Norm won the captains match to get his side’s only point leaving Neil Burchell to grab the last for Greyhound.
