Greyhound 3 Plough 2
Paul Goodwin 6770 Des Gasson 1330 Geoff Fairs 5930 Malc Fuller 3770 Neil Burchell 8220 Mark Potter BP Trevor Rees 1560 Geoff Parsons 8780 Peter Burchell 2010 Keith Potter 5490
A very pleasant evening but a tough match as to be expected against the Plough. My run of poor form continues - came off after 600 and severely punished by Geoff with the highest score of the night 8780.
All winners with scores over 5k - this league is getting harder.

Laughing Fish 3 - 2 Hurst B
Andy Brooks 740 vs 5290 Darrell Skinner
Darrell started with 1k. A few medium size breaks followed by a 1.7k were more than enough with Andy struggling to get going at all.
Ray Carpenter 1740 vs 3520 Chris Kirkham
Both players struggling at the start. No notable breaks but Chris just making a few more points in the end for the win.
H 4890 vs 4880 John Lear
I don't quite know how to feel about this. Proud or severly disappointed knowing that I could have done so much better. John opened with a great 4.5k break taking to the table immediately. I came back with a 2k break, and then made another 2k, but on my last shot of the break the ball moved on the D and I took out the BP (that's 2 nights in a row!!!!). John let me back in, and I played probably the quickest break of my life to play the table out for 10 more points than he had! Proud to have won in such difficult circumstances, but ouch ouch ouch is all I can say!
Les Whiteman 3360 vs 2390 Steve King
The scalp of the night methinks! Les got an early lead, with Steve getting a 1.5k to almost catch him, but Les managed to hold out for the win!
Chris Ashford 3180 vs 1340 Ian Giffen
Both very slow to start. A steady 1.2k from Chris got him a good lead, and he stayed ahead from there.
Another highly enjoyable night, and another new set of faces for us who were a pleasure to meet and we look forward to many good matches against them in the future!

Sportsman 4 HHUSC 1
Sir Trevor 2650 - 770 Chris Packham A nice 1k break from Trevor in the middle of the game to give us the lead. 1-0 ;D
Tony Driver 1640 - 1260 Ron Wales Tony started with just under 1k, balls stayed at the back of the table for a while before Ron got a hard worked for 800 to nearly catch up. Tony got the break back but lost his score, Ron then lost a score that would have given him the lead just as the bar dropped to give Tony his first win of the season. 2-0 ;D ;D
DA-DM 1390 - 2250 Sparky Sparky opened up with just under 1k, got the break back again but lost his score missing a ball behind the 100 hole. Both struggled for a while before Colleen hit 600 at the back of the table but Sparky had too much of a lead for her to catch up. 2-1 :(
The food then arrived and after a lengthy delay....... >:( ::)
BB Warrior 6420 - 1520 Mick Kirwan A 3k break in the middle of the game sealed the match for us. 8-) :P
Lady Ros 2720 - BP Andy Short Ros struggled to start with but then got a good break of 1980 to gain a reasonable lead which Andy was never able to catch before he knocked the black peg over with the last ball to lose his score of 1480. 4-1 ;D ;D ;D ;D
The food looked as good as usual......... unfortunately I didn't get any though! :-X :-X

I can't believe this is the 6th report in - you guys are getting good at this malarky !
Handcross Z 3, CKRBL 2
Johnny Haigh 1550, Shaky Coles 2460 tommo 2600, Dilly Williamson 1280 Graham Daniels 1580, Ted Stringer 2320 Barry Timson 3970, Peter Edwards 2520 MrMike007 1420, Jenny'Superstar'Edwards 1370
Bad reports of a difficult H/X table from the night before led tommo to get down there extra early with his spirit level It needed a slight tweak but even then had a slight right-hand roll, enough to cause a few misses during the match itself.
Other than that, it had a brush and block, a thorough clean of the pockets - and a try-out of a fresh set of balls for the first time.
Whilst it wasn't brilliant, it was playable; but not nearly up to the standard that it was playing towards the end of last season. Determined to get there, though..

An interesting set of results and matches.......
Defeats for all the top 4 Premier Teams this week....... also for the leading player so far this season. :o :o
A great comeback for H at the Fish...... knowing his usual speed of play I can only imagine that his cue was a blur if that was the quickest break of his life! ;D
Some very high scoring matches at the Greyhound and Hurst A (where 2 World Champions were playing) and reasonable individual scores at St Francis and Sportsman..... 8-)
Good luck Tommo in sorting out the "Tables Table" from that set of results....... ;D ;D

Sorry Roy It is rare for me to have to make the call this season, and unknown for home games. Myself and Girliefosters, celebrated but getting bollaksed, and playing a game of 'off the spot'. Neither will be going to Jersey next year.

I don't know how you did it H but after the shock of the BP & your disgust it was a brilliant come back against Mr Lear who played supurb & just needed an extra few minutes to make sure. I enjoyed the evening & look forward to the return great pub great company great food well worth the travel. ;D ;D ;D ;D 8-)

.........and to wrap it up (this week's round of League games and reports, that is), here is what the Old Fella had to say on the one remaining match:
Bravos 1, Watermill A 4 The A Team got back into winning ways, maintaining a healthy lead at the top of div’n 1 with an away win at Bravos. Laser-eyes put the visitors into the lead, all even though after XPTG won the second. But that was to be their lot however as consecutive wins for John Willis, Rodney Storr and Big Norm took the match.
