Wellie B 3 - Romans 2
Our second win of the season was a bit of a struggle at times.
Nick 2320 Pete 1050. Both Nick and Pete's game never really got going. 1-0
Mark 5410 Dave R 3410. Mark had a return to form this week, putting a couple of good breaks together. Dave also had his chances. 2-0
Me 3030 Paul 5100. Paul started with a solid 2-3K break. It took me a while to get in the swing before managing a 2k finished with a awful break shot to let Paul back in again. 2-1
Tim 5080 Terry BP. Tim didn't have to may problems against an out of sorts Terry. 3-1
Garry 1760 Sleepy 2930. The highlight of this game was Garry's two 200 shots from the back end of the table. The first went in a treat whilst the second was just a bit to hard and spun out. 3-2
A good hearted evening with the Pizza hound entertaining as she does.

Dyke 'B' vs Dyke 'A'
Game 1 Micky Winder killed the game off with 10k on his very first visit against Terry Molloy. Game 2 Terry Coghlan had two breaks to win the game after Charlie found the right hand peg with his first visit. Game 3 Former world champ against current world number 3. Tupps broke down on 4 k and Terry Race ran out with about 9k Game 4 Micky Hall won on his first visit with 9k against Colin Smith Game 5 Me against Kev Simmons. Neither of us scored on our first visit before Kev scored two breaks to reach 8k.
B team won 3-2

What a strange evening.
Turned up in a taxi at the Stadium at 8.15pm to find the home team waiting outside with their cues in their hands looking cold and lonely. We the find out the pub is shut and not re-opening till Friday as it has been taken over again. After a brief discussion it is decided we swap the fixture to a home fixture at the Montreal and will play the away one later in the season poss 22nd April.
After getting the taxi back to the Mont and £20 lighter we also find out we have missed the first England goal. If this is not bad enough, as it was a last minute change realise we would go hungry tonight. :-[
Then onto the Billiards and the usual score prevails...... wait for it.......
Montreal 2-3 Stadium D
M Scott 1500 - 3480 S Noble * * S Burns 1680 - 1360 K Austin T Hocking 1860 - 5990 A Witcomb* * G Mechan 3390 - 610 D Richins B Mechan 1690 - 6430 V Watts* ( 5020 break not sure what the highest is for lower div at the mo so thought i would include it ).
After a different start to the evening it turned out to be a very enjoyable one with great company as usual and England reserves beating the Germans on their own soil.

Three Horseshoes 4 Brewery Tap `A` 1
Great win for the Shoes, avenging the 4-1 defeat in the seasons first meeting at the Tap.
Sir kt 9,540 Nigel 7,470 - Nige looked to have started ok until he put his second one-up behind the hole. I got them back and made 9k but didn`t intentionally come off. There was still 7 minutes left, so Nige probably had time. He got them back but broke down again, losing some more time. He made a final break but time ran out.
Ian 11,900 Marcus 290 - A nice 8k opener from Ian done the damage in this one.
Mal 4,000 Gareth 8,770 - Gareth was off quite early with a thick split. Mal established a 3k lead but Gareth got another chance and finished off with 7k.
BB Reaper 9,340 Chris 2,620 - Kev`s great form continues. He opened up with 8k+, not quite enough if Chris had run the time out, but he left both balls up in his chase giving the win to the Shoes.
Geoff 7,610 Mario 3,830 - Steve opened with over 3k, but when Geoff eventually got them back, he finished off the clock for a comprehensive victory.
Bring on the third installment ;)

The re-arranged game between the Stadium `A` and Three Horseshoes will be played at the Shoes tomorrow night instead of the Stadium. It will re-open next friday, so i`m told.

Three Horseshoes 4 Stadium `A` 1 (re-arranged from 5-11-08)
BB Reaper 590 S.Hurley 3,150 Sir kt 7,180 S.Wood 1,270 Mal 6,200 B.Muggeridge 2,180 Martin Smith 9,740 C.Elliott 0 Ian L. 10,270 M.Pope 2,900
For the first game and a half, you wouldn`t have said the result was going to be 4-1.
Strange how a table that always runs 18+mins, seems to run short when we play a team with Mick in it ??? :-X Two of the games ran only 16.30.
