Uncle Max & I beat Andy & Ray 2-0 at Handcross Club tonight.
Andy & Ray 1,600 - 7,290 Dave & Colin Ray opened with just over 1k, the balls stayed at the back of the table for quite a while with nobody scoring much until I got the break back scoring 6,840, touching up after the bar had dropped.
Dave & Colin 2,900 - 2,320 Andy & Ray I missed a simple ball to the 100 hole scoring just 700 in my opening break, both pairs struggled to get the balls back with us maintaining a lead of about 1k until Andy got the break back right towards the end and closed to within 200 of us with the bar down. Unluckily for him, he left the 1 up just short and Colin made no mistake in finishing the game off.
Many thanks to the Handcross Club, who very kindly cleared the area around the table before the match started....... pity they had to disconnect the Scalextric set, we all fancied having a go on that! ;D ;D

Tonight Jim and myself beat Derek and Peter 2-1 on a beautifully conditioned USC - many thanks to Sparky for looking after it so well!
Game 1: 4.8k - 3.5k Game 2: 1.5k - 6.5k Game 3: 6.5k - 1.5k
Three good games, everyone getting some good breaks, especially well done to Derek for his methodical 5k break in the 2nd, and to my partner Jim for his 1.5k and 2.8k breaks in the 3rd which made all the difference.
Table was excellent just a bit whippy at the back on a couple of occasions, meaning I failed to get the break back in the 2nd - I am very very suprised we haven't seen any big scores on this top yet this season - honestly having seen the scores on it I was expecting a pile of crap and was pleasantly suprised to find it one of the best tables I have played on in Mid Sussex this year - anything that went wrong was my fault, not the table.
Once again, Kudos to Sparky!

If it has not been played by the cut off date for what ever reason (s) you can contact the competition secretary and ask for an extension, in which you are normally given a week to play it by. But you do need to phone the competition secretary for permission to do so.

Thank you H and agree that higher scores were expected by me too and can only assume that it is 'new venue' syndrome, maybe it will happen in the second half............although why I don't do better there myself is a mystery :-/ had I known when you were playing I would have given it a little bit extra TLC ;)

Ros Appkeby and Trevor Rees beat Peter Burchell and Paul Goodwin 2 - 1
A very tight match with none of us really getting to grips with the downhill slope. Best break just over 2k.
