Watermill B 3 Sportsman 2 :'(
Gavin Boyd 2,660 - 1,300 DA-DM 1-0 :( Sabina Williams 1,810 - 910 Pam Peacock 2-0 :( Tony Williams 1,250 - 10,660 BB Warrior 2-1 ;D Paul Blackburn 4,230 - 2,620 Lady Ros 3-1 :( Flying Dutchman 1,220 - 1,370 Sir Trevor 3-2 :)
A deserved win for the B's, who played well on the night. Sabina played well to record her first win of the season and Paul hitting his highest score so far as well! :) It could easily have been 4-1 as Martin lost on the last ball having pegged a 1k break earlier. ::)
Table playing very well, perhaps slightly downhill which meant that the balls tended to gather at the back (if you let them! :P) but break, one up and split all go easily. 8-)

Droops 2 Greyhound 3
Geoff Fairs 2970 Jock 4460 Paul Goodwin 4820 Lorraine Hall 4030 Peter Burchell 2670 AFW 3630 Neil Burchell 2580 Colin Humphrey 940 Trevor Rees 2920 Fred Jones 1050
Another win for the Greyhound in a tight match Jock came back with a late 3k break to take the first Paul hit a nice 4k break and Lorraine was chasing well but ran out of time, AFW edged a win in the third. Neil played a steady game in the fourth with poor Colin having one of those nights. I struggled in the last but managed to scrape a win against a very gracious opponent.
The usual pleasant evening in my second home (four visits so far this season)

White Horse 1 - 4 Laughing Fish
Colin Marshall 1170 vs 3920 Ray Carpenter
Ray opened with a steady 1.7k break. A few medium sized breaks to followed were enough to take the first leg.
Brian Coleman 680 vs 1000 Keith Fantom
Not a lot happened here. Brian pegged his opener. Nobody managed to get going, and I guess Keith just potted a few more balls than Brian did!
Colin Mansfield 3150 vs 7200 H
I opened with 2.5k. Colin replied with 2k. We then messed about a bit, more I got the balls back for a 1.6k break. I then hit a few smaller ones to amass my final score, but at not point did I feel safe. One biggy from Colin and he would've had me!
W.Shaw 1080 vs 3510 Les Whiteman
A slow start for both, but Les managed to rack up a 1k break midway, followed by a few mid-sized breaks to get a comfortable victory.
Trevor Howes 5980 vs 3110 Chris Ashford
I can't really fault Chris here. He came off with about 700, only for Trevor to knock in a very methodical 3.5k. Chris made a good effort with another 1k late on, followed by another 1.3k from Trevor. The few medium breaks in between made little difference, with Trevor coming out comfortably on top and giving Chris little chance.
A good night, another friendly new team to meet.
Table analysis - straight, true - in desperate need of an iron!! Very very slow. I left the break short tonight more times than I sunk it. The table itself is in very very good condition, but if the cloth were sped up even just a tad this good be an exceptionally good top.
Message to Dave - I hate you for getting 12k. End of message!

Well, I had to try to set you a decent target H...... can't make it too easy for you to beat!! :P ;D ;D ;D A very fair analysis of the table there, it would be a truly magnificent top if it was brushed and ironed regularly......!! 8-) PS. H..... it was 12,890 (nearer 13k than 12!) :P :P

Banter alert !!!!
HHUSC 2, H/X Z 3
Andy Short 3420, tommo 4510 Mick Kirwan 2070, Johnny 'aceed' Haigh 3160 Sparky 4630, Barry Timson 1580 Ray Pratt 4110, Graham Daniels 2640 Ron Wales 660, MrMike007 6450.
Well this is without a doubt the best table I've played on in Mid Sussex this year, if you overlook the 'Tarratt side cushions' which caused many breaks to be lost. (Mick Kirwan 5k; Sparky 3k; Graham D 3k) - so not only could the home side could have registered a couple of 7k scores, but the Zeds' first and last player got the bulk of their scores in the first five minutes but then got bogged down preventing much more to be added.
Anyway thanks to the USC for a closely-fought match in really nice surroundings and with good food brought out early, including some scrummy Stilton cheese with silverskin onions. :P
Thanks also for letting us start the match 20 minutes late without penalty after tommo had to scour Haywards Heath for a parking place (eventually found one about half a mile away !)

Tommo Did you not fancy the very large car park the U.S. provide for all to use. If you really insist on parking and walking when the weather is poo, you can park outside my shop which you will find about 300 yards north of the club. Thehelpfullone. The above post refers to something that took place on match night, week 11. I think I have put it in the right place, although it does lack gravitas.

Hurst B would need to have beaten Watermill A either 4-1 or 5-0 to stay above you, or you will be 2nd. 8-)
I'm more interested in the CKRBL v Plough result...... if CKRBL won that then they either go level, or above us on points. :'(

Will answer as may be of use to our readers and not banter as such. Yes there is an enormous carpark behind the club but not a single space left for us.........according to Sparky, there were some extra functions taking place on the night and it started to fill up soon after 6pm. And just to put right earlier omissions.....MrMike007's opening break was exactly 5000, and the chap I played (Andy Short) could have beaten me if he had had the break back one more time towards the end - but the luck was not on his side.

Hurst B 2 VWatermill A 3 Sorry have no other details apart from the score A good night for the Watermill then, with both of their teams doing the "double" over Premier opponents..... :-[ I'm sure that IanG will post the scores on here soon...... ;) ::) Which just leaves 1 outstanding result...... CKRBL v Plough, which the Old Fella says was won by Kleiners which will mean that only 5 points cover the middle 6 teams in the Premier Division. :o

Sorry Tommo, was told today car park full because of salsa class upstairs. If it happens again the offer is still there to park on my forecourt, which is close by.
Agree with you about 'the other club', being a cracking venue. Good food, guest bitter at 2.30 a pint, live football, walking distance for me, and a really nice team to play. Spaky's newbies also putting some scores together as well. Have been in there and seen people playing, and a few coins on the table reserving the next games. Don't see that very often these days. being a cracking venue. Good food, guest bitter at 2.30 a pint, Specialone ......not to mention choice of three ciders, and wine on draught - again with a choice of medium (Pinot Grigio) or dry (a Chardonnay). Thanks for the offer of private carparking. Will take you up on it next time - unless I can persuade someone else to drive so that I can have a few ! ;D

Scores from CKRBL v Plough.....
Pete Edwards 4730 - 4140 Malc Fuller Derek Taylor 1370 - 4970 Mark Webber Dilly Williamson 7300 - 1680 Geoff Parsons Jenny Edwards 2170 - 1080 Des Gasson Shaky Coles 1560 - 3350 Keith Potter
Some decent scores there..... should lift CKRBL up the Tables Table even if that would be unfair in comparison to the scores at White Horse & Watermill who didn't move!! ::) :P :-X
