It seems that my comments from last week in the match report have gotten back to Royal Oak via this forum. I apologise that once again I am posting this here, but I don't have another means of contact for them and since it got back to them the first time I assume it will again.
I do apologise that my comment clearly upset them, and I understand they are a new team and are out for a good night, which is fine, we all are. They do have to understand that there are those of us who do play this game to a serious level and are going to try and score as much as we can, and that is not done to try and make the game 'boring' or less sociable, it is just how this game works. Consequentially when I overhear comments while I'm in the middle of a big opening break, it does put my off. I understand they were perhaps made in a complimentary fashion and I may have mis-interpreted that at the time. I found the Royal Oak a very friendly bunch, and after a few beers at the end of the night, which is when I tend to post the match reports, my comments can come out harsher than they are meant. That said, I cannot deny that I was quite frustrated having to go through that again, since I have found playing in the Mid-Sussex league this season very refreshing, in that every week previous, I have managed to go for big scores without any negative comments coming out.
This could be put down to my own paranoia, since I have had a lot of experience of negative comments when in the middle of a big break in leagues I have played in previously, and I may have misunderstood the intention of any statements made. For that I apologise.
I just hope that we can put this behind us, and next time our two teams meet have another enjoyable evening and all play the sport we love so much (well I do anyway).
All my best to the whole team, a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all
