Richard Spurrier Vs. John Staplehurst was played last night at the Hurst club and saw me edge to a 2-1 victory. The first frame saw John garner a comfortable victory 3.5k to 1k. The second frame was my break and blew my opener of 2k. Fortunately i managed to get back into the frame to win 3k-2k.
Into the third frame and John outscored my opening break by about 600 points. The rest of the frame was cat and mouse until near the end where i fluked the break back and compiled a 2k break to make the match safe. Comiserations to John then. He was a touch unlucky in the third frame but waved my apologies away. I enjoyed the game a lot tonight and many thanks to Ian, Graham and Bobhall for scoring.

Jock got slaughtered 2-0 from Kev.
Difficult top for us both but Kev played superbly and on top of that has a wonderfull ability to be luckiest sod in the room pulling of several superb shots, (lol read FLUKES here). ;D ;)
Well done, a good laugh, sorry I couldn't match you and give you a proper match! One of these days, maybe!!! :P :P :P
Can't remember the scores but mines were Embarrassingly low, Kev's were equally Embarrassingly high!!!! :o ;D ;D ;D
Good luck in the next round, I expect to be scoring you in the final again this year my boy!!! ;) ;) ;)

XPTG vs H Playing tonight at Handcross @ 7pm before I shoot down to Worthing for my league match! The battle of the ponytails - past and present ! If I get the chance I'll nip down there first and make sure the table is presentable. Can't guarantee that you'll get 19k on it, though ! ;)

I beat Adam 2-0 at Handcross tonight
First leg I won comfortably, second not so much. Thanks to Tommo for coming in specially to prepare the table and for scoring, and thanks to Paul M-R for scoring as well (and of course Nikki for supporting!)

My pleasure. Just to add that Adam really made a match of it in game 2 and the 4.5k - 5.5k score was a good reflection on both players on a table which is not the easiest to master.
Entertaining stuff.

Darrell Skinner v Dave Ingram @ St Francis This match is due to be played on Sunday 22nd February. I beat Darrell 2-0 at St Francis tonight. ;D Pleased to say that the new table there is a HUGE improvement on the old table, no doubt thanks to Shaun's work in making sure that it is nice and level....... 8-) There are a couple of quirks, notably balls that get stuck down the left hand 30 hole which don't return to the tray...... but nothing that couldn't be fixed by putting in a new inlay to the return channel. ;)

Sparky beat me 2-1 tonight with the last ball of the last game.
Game 1 to tommo by 4k to 1k Game 2 to Sparky by 6k to 1k Game 3 a comedy of errors. Sparky pegged what would have been a winning break and then made up a 1.5k deficit at the bar - and bravely potted the last 200 to win by 50.
A change to play a table with a pronounced left hand roll, but Sparky coped with the conditions far better than I did, and was fully deserving of his victory and I wish him the best of luck in the next round.
