Well after 7 league games (White Horse 8), we are in the final week of this years Summer League season. The table looks like this: Nelsons Head 26 White Swan 22 Longbow 18 Waggon & Horses 16 White Horse 8 The final week sees the top 2 (Nelsons Head & White Swan) pit it out at the White Swan for the Summer League Shield. However as you probably are aware the White Swan needs to win 5-0. Waggon & Horses play the Longbow for 3rd place, however if the White swan lose 1-4 the Longbow could finish 2nd. It is possibly the biggest table twister in the Summer League history, at least since I have played in it from 1999. ;D C'mon Swan

Well the game on Monday had the atmosphere, the vibe of a true play-off for the title. We lost 1-4 at home though, after losing the first game to an outstanding 900 point clearance after the gate. We had lost the challenge. As we had 4 players, Phil was chosen twice however he played Julian Dale (Cambs Open Finalist) and Earle Dugan (Former Swan Player).
The winner on our side was me :) I tapped up after 8K and then finished off with 12K.
Well we did lose to the better team, they almost got 4-1 wins every night (there worst result was 3-2 against us). They deserved it, well done!
Roll on September and (hopefully) county matches for lil' me ???
Over and out from Johnny.

So I take that you have the 'fourman rule' in your league?

;) Well it would have to be a team decision, also you would have to fit into the criteria ;D Can you strike a ball with a cue? also Are you well trained in the arts of the Bar Billiards game :D
After the vigorous and pointless tests, you will be considered!
Well on a more serios note, ::) we wouldn't of won even with the 5 players, we got outplayed!

I think you'd fit the bill down here with us okay, Colemanator.
More important criteria IMHO are a) not to take yourself too seriously, and b) a willingness to get your round in. Being able to enjoy a good curry would seal the matter. ;) ;D

:-* ok Colemanator, I will have to talk to the board directors and discuss your case ;)
Well I would love if we got some new faces in Cambridgeshire playing on odd nights. I think asking them would really boost chances of possibly ( :o the BIG phrase) a new TEAM :o :o
Nelsons have shown exactly what it means to start out from fresh, now they are title contenders!

Well I have been selected as a possible candidate.
You will have to direct your question to Keith Macdonald, as I don't even know the county team yet, which has left me puzzling BIG TIME ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? :-/ :-/ :-/
I am sure he is thinking about the 7 but he is not letting on who is the 7!
I hope for the team's sake he chooses now (with or without me) as you do need to get yourself prepared whoever you are.
From a :-/ Johnny
