CKRBL v Brewers Droops (at St Francis - CUP)
The Kleiners will be looking for a touch of revenge for their Lewes Off-the-Spot defeat on Monday when these 2 meet on the new Saints table...... it should be a close match and will probably be decided by whoever gets to grip with the table first. :-/

Handcross Z v Sportsman (Eight Bells) (at Plough - CUP)
Another match on a newly installed table..... which, based on the last couple of matches there, is still settling in.
The in-form Zeds will be strong favorites to take the honours against the not-so-in-form Eight Bells......... but the table could play it's part here. ::)

H leads his troops on the long trek to Handcross to face the Flying Dutchmans squad....... he's been very quiet on here lately after an enthusiastic start to the season. ???
The Fish must be favorites here in my opinion..... ;)

St Francis v Greyhound (at Hurst Club - CUP)
The last of the Cup games brings two in-form teams to play each other on the usually high scoring Hurst Table....... 8-)
Specialone will be looking to maintain his good run (unlike Chelsea!) of form while the Greyhound have won their last 9 league games in a row. :o 8-)
Should be a good game...... Greyhound to edge it - just. ;)

Much will depend on the draw, Watermill A will possibly have the edge unless the Hurst Superstars are available! ;D

White Horse v Brewers Bravos (at Laughing Fish - PLATE)
There were rumours of a cancellation of this match, due to Uncle Max on a ski holiday and lack of Hornless Unicorn reserves...... ??? ::)
If it does go ahead this week, the Bravos must be favorites to go through against a weakened opposition. ;)

A warm-up for both teams before their league match next week at USC. With the White Horse table playing well this season, the Bees will probably sting the USC and go through here. ;)

With the ladies still seeking their first win this season, it's hard to see any other result other than victory for the Premier Division leaders, especially on the nice USC table..... ;D

Better add this H : * White Horse v Brewers Bravos (at Laughing Fish - PLATE) In case someone gets in a panic and thinks you're referring to your match v Watermill B at Handcross. With regard to the latter, if you want food the club would probably rustle you something up at short notice if you phone up beforehand - but it probably won't be value for money. (We have taken recently to providing our own, taking it in turns around the team). It may be an idea to take along your own supply of crisps. ;) I have, however warned them of the match taking place so they know to have enough bar staff etc. |

Thanks Clive. I expect we will sort our own food out before we leave on this occasion since its quite a way to travel and I expect the guys won't want to hang around for too long after the match.

Sportsman will be taking a full squad up to the Plough tomorrow night, the captain was assessing form during a practice session at our new venue last night with everybody trying to impress..... 8-) ::)
We will also be bringing a non-playing reserve along to get his first "match" atmosphere experience...... who if he keeps playing as well as he has been at home will be entering some Opens this year as dad now has to play seriously when he plays him..... or lose! :o :-[

I wasn't enjoying my life just before Christmas, as my job - and particularly my boss - was doing my head in.
But everything is becoming rosy again - since my boss was given the sack ! ;D

One player now missing from the Sportsman team from tomorrow evening....... a short-term loan agreement to help out a team who are short of players in another League for 1 week only. ;D ;D ......or, put another way: Bringing in a ringer !Given that we have a surplus of players for tonight (meaning that at least 1 person would not have had a game) and that the team in the other League would have had to cancel their match (meaning that a number of players wouldn't have had a game) it is surely the best thing to do........ I would hardly classify that as bringing in a ringer...... ::) Certainly, using that term in respect of the Sportsman (Eight Bells) is not at all appropriate....... it would have been very easy for us to have signed on members of our Lewes Team (3 regular county players and 2 Interleague players) who play in other Leagues and select them when they didn't have matches. However, unlike some, we have played the same team pretty much all season. :P |
