It had to happen sooner or later, England`s run of success in the Men`s team event has come to an end. By a hefty margin as well.
On paper, the Jersey boys (good show that) looked very strong, moreso than last year, and so it proved. A typical comparison would be like Arsenal putting out their youth side in the Carling cup and then playing their first team against Man Utd (only Utd wouldn`t have lost). The England side, including one new cap in Richard Wooton, still had plenty of experience between them.
I think at the end of the day, we were totally outplayed by a very good team :-/
The scoring system was a point per leg and a point for the total aggregate.

So a 22-11 defeat, quite substantial don`t you think ???
Hopefully, this will be the team they send over to us next year :)
Now the good news ;D
With two new caps in the side Hayley Tunstall & Jenny Abbott, the England ladies showed the men how to do it.

A 12 - 6 victory for the Ladies, but an improved performance from the Jersey women from recent years.
