Windmill C 1 - 4 Stadium
A fine win for Stadium in a potentially difficult match, but almost every game could have gone either way.
Game 1 - Geoff Jukes began with 5½k v Steve Aylmore, Steve did have 2 goes at the break but was unable to catch up. 0-1
Game 2 - Arthur Brewster v Grant Tully typified the topsy-turvy nature of the match, with several changes of lead. Grant eventually closed out the game at the death with his third break. 0-2
Game 3 - Ian Lelliott v Bill Kerr. Ian off cheaply, Bill made a break of a couple of thousand which he pegged. Ian added a further 4 k to lead by 4½k overall. Bill retrieved the balls with time, caught up and narrowly overtook Ian, then broke down at the vital moment. A last few hundred made the game safe for Ian, he delivered one further shock to his watching team-mates however, by attempting an unnecessary 20-split after the bar had gone. In fact the cue ball hit the 100 hole at high speed, and miraculously went down it. 0-3
Game 4 - Marc Chipman off at 800 v Martin Smith. Martin compiled a score of 5k, also pegging a break of 6k. 0-4
Game 5 - Tony Lewis pegged his opener, Rick Cunningham responded with a break of 7780. Tony got the balls back, with not quite enough time left to catch up, he valiantly got to 7k but fell narrowly short. 1-4

Well done Tarring club, that`s two big scalps this season.
Windmill A 2 Three Horseshoes 3
What a difference going from the C table on Wednesday night to this one. We all know how tricky it is and i`m quite happy to play on difficult tops but what doesn`t help is the state of the D and the balls getting stuck in the right hand 50 trap. Gareth really should get it sorted.
C.Cooper 6290 Kt 5270 A.Messer 1420 D.Hampton 7300 M.Pope 250 M.Spier 5420 G.Sherratt 2690 K.Hall 3420 E.Butler 3890 S.Mepham 1370
A good team performance after we went one down. Charlie and myself both had several chances to win and with the bar imminent and me catching Charlie, i had to contend with the stuck ball problem which cost me valuable time 1 - 0 Dave Hampton kicked off with a superb 5k which Alan could never catch. 1 - 1 Micky broke down very early and eventually black pegged when too far behind anyway against Mal. 1 - 2 Kev Hall won a top of the table game after an initial 2k break against Gina. 1 - 3 Edge won the fifth with another scrappy game 2 - 3

West Tarring B 3 - 2 Duke of Wellington Turn up for the books tonight! :) With bottom beating top and every game going against the break . Nigel, I'm sure, will post the details later but I just had to post the result now. Well done Tarring Club B :D :D :D :D :D :D Dave - rub it in by making me give the details!! ;) Yes, all games went against the break which is bad news if you are the away side. Game 1 - Richard broke off with nearly 3k, but stopped scoring for the rest of the game and Bob Thomas pipped him at the end. Game 2 - Chris Reeves did well to take Steve break game eventually finishing with 8k. Game 3 - Me against Roy Marsh. I only opened with 500, and with a ball left in the middle of the table I went into defensive mode which cost me in the end as Roy won by 170, just catching me with a clearance at the end. Game 4 - A good win for Tupps, but only after Colin Green put down the balls 4 times when he was over 2k up with a break going. Tupps made the most of it staying on for a 4k break and made the score 2-2. Game 5 - Chubbster v Dave Anscombe. Words cannot describe some of the shots I witnessed but I will try. Glenn held a lead of around 2,500, but Dave got the balls back with time left. One shot he played a 100-50 shot only to hit it too hard and rim the 50 and both go down the 100. To say 2 of Dave's one ups were perfect is a bit of an understatement - he left the red literally hanging over the hole twice (remember it was quick, Colin put the balls down 4 times to lose his game). Anyway Dave held his nerve, just about (he was visibly shaking) and won the match for the West Tarring Club. Well done to West Tarring, a good win for you, and you have given the other teams a bit of hope in catching us now.
