Stadium A 4 - 1 Gardeners B
Game 1 - Paul Barnett opened with 2710, but Martin Smith got the balls back and was going well until he pegged 5800. Barney added a further 1500, which just put the game out of Martin's reach. 0-1
Game 2 - Tony Lewis kicked off with 8k v Neil Higgins, this proved to be his final score, but was enough to win, Neil finishing on 5k+. 1-1
Game 3 - Nick Brown off at 1500, Grant Tully took a couple of visits to retrieve the balls, but when he did so, he made no mistake, with a 9k and touch. 2-1
Game 4 - Geoff Jukes broke off with 6k, but Gary Ridley had 2 chances to win. His second break ended seconds from the bar, Geoff sank the last ball down the 100 hole to win by the smallest margin, 7300 - 7290. 3-1
Game 5 - Tony Burgess was soon off v Mark James. Your reporter decided to have a bit of a dash at a big break, and failed at just over 19k as the bar loomed. 4-1

Duke of Wellington 5 - 0 Dolphin
Duke bounce back well after 2 losses to Windmill
Nigel Senior 14,630 - 3,010* Bob Thomas Chris Tupper 13,640* - 200 Dave Anscombe Pete Brown 5,140 - 1,930* Steve Hurley Chris Reeves 23,590* - 0 Gary Iles John Perrin 10,030 - 3,360 Colin Green
Game 1 - Bob opened with 3k before leaving the one up short. Nigel got the balls back but offered a chance breaking down of 5k sticking the one up behind. Bob couldn't take it and a 9.5k break in the last 7 minutes put Nigel past 14k
Game 2 - Tupps off early but Dave Anscombe was out off sort depite beating him in the Brighton league. Chris was able to finish off 2 breaks of 6k to end with 13k+
Game 3 - Pete Brown is improving with every game and saw off Steve Hurleys challenge with a 4k break at the end.
Game 4 - At 3-0 Chris was given the chance to have a go for a biggie. He got a biggie - 23,590 but surely could have made a lot more as he was not consitent on the 100 split and was down the table quite a few times. A 25k break is definitely on the cards.
Game 5 - Well doen to John "regg3y" Perrin who knocked in his first ever 10k league score. Colin Green was a little out ofd sorts and midway through it was 3k each But John ran the rest of the table out with 6k to make that 10,030 score.

A second player with their first 10k following Mr Senior Snr`s effort on Wednesday. Well done regg3y, your game is certainly improving playing with top class players.

Swan `A` 2 Three Horseshoes `A` 3
Good away win on an excellent top.
Game 1 - R.Brewer v BB Reaper. Kev opened with 7k and on his next visit cleared up with another 7k to record his highest ever score, playing very confidently. 200 - 14,270 0 - 1
Game 2 - John Hayward opened with a very steady 5k+, I retrieved the balls straight away and touched on just before the bar. 5470 - 8810 0 - 2
Then we tried to throw it away.
Game 3 - Dave France v BB Warrior. Dave Ingram opens with 2k but misses a ball off the right cushion. Dave France won the game with two breaks (lost another). 7330 - 800 1 - 2 Game 4 - Vern Blake v Paul Reece. Vern off early, Paul misses an easy 50, Vern then gets about 3k . Paul gets them back but plays the split too thick. He gets them back again but too late. 4900 - 1800 2 - 2
Game 5 - Terry Denyer v Mal. Incident packed finale. Mal black pegs on about 2k going up the middle. Gets them back and does the same thing again (groundhog day i think). Terry then proceeds to build up a 3k break only to fell a white peg giving Mal the break back. Not much score on the board at this pointbut Mal just does enough at the end to take the points' 60 - 3350 2 - 3
Great evening & lovely sandwiches as usual ;)
Good home win for the Three Horseshoes `B`side beating the Marine View `A` 5 - 0. Dave Jones has the scores but i know Hayley had a 3,800 bk, ending up with over 5k :-*

A fantastic performance from the Reaper, most enjoyable to watch! ;D
Sadly I couldn't say the same for my own performance, words that include banjo's and barn doors springing readily to mind...!! :-X :'(

Nice to see Chris Lucas back and obviously not forgotten how to use the cue. Is this going to be on a more permanent basis or just as needed.

Hopefully permanent. Went home quite early to appease Fiona.
We will just have to wait and see.
