OOOOOOOOPS :-[ :-[ :-[
Seems I missed updating my email address on my domain registrant when I changed personal URL's last year.
The renewal warning notices did not reach me and the registrant has now pulled the plug.
Domain control shows the domain is recoverable. I paid the first two years. Is AEBBA going to pay this if they want the site to rise from the ashes please?

Just got in and received a support reply telling me to phone in, a pointless reply as they are not open until Tuesday.
Looks like a battle as I'm not phoning an 0870 number and listening to musac & menus

Thanks Dave,
I'll argue with the registrant, but if they prevaricate I'll register a new domain aebba.org.uk instead of aebba.org. That is available if I have further trouble.

Brilliant Bernie, didn't know that one. The good news, I got through on an 0141 number The bad news, they wanr £100 just to reinstate it. I suggested the obvious place for them to put it. I'll make a couple of inquiries with my hosting company to see if they can do anything to claim the URL, if not the AEBBA site will become www.aebba.org.ukThe site will be down for a few days from the look of it. I made a similar mistake on one of my domains a few years ago and the money that they wanted was stupid, so I decided to let it go & wait for it to become generally available again.
It still hasn't been released so they're obviously holding me to ransom 8-) I dont play that game, like you I just took out a similar url.

I'm setting up a subdomain off the Dover and Deal site to hold the AEBBA site for the next few days www.aebba.barbilliardsdd.co.uk/DNS should have propagated by the morning as it's only local. I'll amend the link at the bottom of this site and the AEBBA logo will redisplay when it's live. Sav

Thanks Dave, but it should not have happened, partly my fault partly EasySpace Customer Service for not letting me know there was an obvious problem.
The situation, though not desirable, is stable now. I'm very meticulous about backups and data preservation.
The existing URL should go on the delete list around 1st May and that takes five days. If it does not, I'll register an alternative. There is little point in doing anything before then.
Chris.

Huge relief having the Website back: An excellent example of good practice observed over back-up information.
One request for Sav or Nigel when you can find the time:
The Roll of Honour section could do with updating as it "peters out" in August 2004. The subsection which displays past winners of Opens would be of particular relevance and interest.
I can provide the necessary 'missing' information at a glance if somebody would like to do a quick fix.
Thanks, tommo.

Thanks, tommo. Clive, Hall of Fame is one part of the site that particularly looks tired. If you copy the last few lines of each Hall of Fame sheet and paste it into Word, That will give you the table format. You can add the missing years and names. That will give me a simple bulk cut 'n paste job to update each page. I will feel far keener to do that than copying individual names and scores. Sav.

I will forward to Sav my word document which has all the national winners up to date. It doesn't contain all the scores from the finals, and the plates & div 2 stuff, which could probably added later if desired but it is as I say up to date.

What Nigel has suggested will be better, Sav, as not all of the information currently shows on the AEBBA website: to research the missing names I had to work backwards through past issues of BBQ. I have Runners-up as well as Winners and if any are needed let me know.

The www.aebba.org domain is now scheduled for release in four days time. I will know later this week as to whether I can reclaim the known URL or whether I register a new one under .org.uk If domain sqatters nab the URL upon release then it will be the latter. Sav.

www.aebba.org.uk successfully secured and this will now be the official AEBBA website address. Webmasters on here please amend your site links accordingly. The site should be up in a couple of days, pointing to the old hosting, but may be out of date until I get a chance to fully rebuild it Sav.

Excellent work Chris & Nigel, but that b***** son of mine is still in front of me in the rankings, even though I beat him in the Semi in Surrey. ;) ;D
It's also close in the Ladies, isn't it, as Pauline leads Jean by only 0.1!!
