Windmill blown away........ :o
Marquis of Granby B 5 Windmill 0
Nick Brown 4,450 - 3,820 Dave Ingram Paul Barnett 5,390 - 4,040 Charlie Cooper Tony Burgess 3,410 - 1,680 Edge Butler Neil Higgins 5,320 - 3,470 Mick Pope Gary Ridley 3,160 - 2,770 Gina Sherratt
A disappointing result (although fair reflection on the night) for us but, with the exception of Barney, who opened with a well worked 4k+ break, it's probably also fair to say that the table beat us all tonight...... most players struggled to get both balls down on the break and the rest of the table was tricky. ::)
Nice range of filled rolls & a large bowl of chips provided some good sustenance for us all...... 8-) while the impromptu karaoke going on at the bar was entertainingly noisy - and very out of tune! :P

May I congratulate SirKT on his 24,100 break on the Duke top tonight, and also to Mr Reaper for the 18k break that shortly followed. Well played chaps!!

Well done to the two Kevins, I had been predicting that a big one would go in at the Wellington this week with the class of player there.

A good night at the Horseshoes with one or two old mates meeting up and talking about old times. Plenty of banter, burgers and chips to follow. As usual the Shoes being wonderful hosts.
RC opened with a very good 7,700 and kept the lead throughout against Dave Milliard. 1550-8760 0-1.
Adam Squires of at below 1k, Terry couldn`t get break back, Adam built a useful 4k to lead by 5k. Terry eventually got break back and had just about time but caught split thick when 1k short. 5510-4480 1-1.
Bill opened with 6250 against Barry Squires and got break back to add another 5k. 0-11470 1-2.
Chris Lucas opened with 1k, TJ could not get the break back, Chris added another 6k and then 3k to make sure. 10080-670. 2-2
Steve off at 1k, Dave Jones did get break back but didn`t take advantage. Steve then put in 6k, Dave replying with close on 3. 3060-8210 2-3.
Table in excellent condition and certainly a credit to the teams that play there.

Wouldn`t have wanted u off last night Kev, feel a bit guilty now that i didn`t give you the break to get your 1st 20k, coz i think you would have done it ;)
Duke of Wellie 1 Three Horseshoes `A` 4
Nigel 150 v Bigjimsilverfox 6,930 - Both players lost their early breaks, Jim with 3k, Nige with 5, then Jim was first to get them back to win the point & doing the double over Nige this season (not many people can lay claim to that) :o
Henry 7,230 v Lolly 5,190 - Henry off very early and both players had plenty of chances during the remainder of the game. Henry just edged it close home
Reevesy 0 v Kt 24,100 - With the title already decided, thought i might as well have a go for the high break. Table played very well ;D Sorry Chris
Pete B. 1,520 v Mr Reaper 18,020 - As i said above, if Kev had the opener, he would have got the 20k. Well played mate ;)
Tupps 6,410 v Chocie 9,300 - As usual, we saved the entertainment til last, with Stu showing us some nice variations of 100 shots after his initial 5k opener
Great pizzas to follow with garlic bread :P ;D

I could have been off early had i been given the Break. Swings and Roundabouts ;)

I could have been off early had i been given the Break. Swings and Roundabouts ;) On the other hand, Kev, you could have been on the wrong end of a slow 10k from Pete Brown. ::) You shouldn't let him off the hook so readily. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well done to both Kev's on the breaks they made at the Duke ... it certainly plays well after an iron.
