This year`s match against Guernsey takes place at the Roffey club, Horsham this saturday. Start time 7.0pm. Address for the club is Roffey S & SC, Spooners rd, Roffey RH12 4DY.
As usual, the 4 pairs matches(best of 4 legs) will take place first, followed by a food interval. Three sets of singles matches(best of 2 legs) follow after the break. 1 point per leg and a point for the total aggregate making a grand total of 47 points at stake.
Two years ago, Guernsey took 2 of the singles matches on aggregate and will be looking to improve on their total of 10 points from then and last year in Guernsey. There will be a couple of friendlies on Friday night at the club with John, Dick & company entertaining our guests.
England team as follows - Kt (capt) Nigel S. Chris R. Gareth L. Phil C. Leon B. Steven S. Gary J. Tony W.

That's a very good young side Kevin, except the Captain. ;D ;)
I'm looking forward to seeing some cracking matches and having one or two ales of course over the W/End. ::)
P.S. Sorry Kevin, I don't want to make you angry in case we play each other in the 2nd Round on Sunday, if we both manage to win our 1st Round games. 8-)

Champs should be on his way to the airport now, if he hasn't spent too much time hanging around in his hotel room........... Lets hope he paid Bill before he left also. ::)

Great evening spent with the Guernsey boys :)
The final result didn`t really reflect on their improvement to play our tables. The Doubles finished 17-3 and the Singles 20-7, equalling their tally of 10 points in recent meetings .
More details later

Thanks for the lesson again lads. ::) As competition for places must be fierce I can understand why we were shown no mercy, with very few slip ups by England. However it was great to see teamate Terry Girard gaining all three points in his singles win against Phil. Thanks for all the friendship shown by the England team, and to all the markers on the night also. The catering organised by Kevin and Hayley was top class and very much appreciated by all.
