An excellent evening at the Marquis and nice to meet some new faces (to me at least) from Littlehampton. Table was playable but certainly took no prisoners if you got it wrong. Played as drawn with the Dolphin being the home team.
TJ somehow kept himself on the table and opened with 4.5k. Mark Brown got no luck whatsoever and had to wait to halve way through to get the break back, only to fall into the trap of a slow top and leave the one up short. 1640-6270 0-1
Lady H opened up with just over 1k, Terry Molloy got the break back only to miss both, Terry did get them back and built 1k lead, no matter what Hayley did she just did not get the run of the balls and Terry managwed to squeeze home. 2610-3540 0-2
Steve Aylmore missed his first break, but got in first to build a 2k lead. Denise Mahy got the break back and built a very good 1.5k break, Steve lost 2k but added another 1k to make sure. 1820-3160 0-3
dave Hampton opened confidently but over hit break to come off with 1k and really didn`t get much lick from thereon. Bill Kerr played his steady game and built two 2k breaks to make sure 1060-5340 0-4
Best game of the evening came last, Bill Harrison could not master the break but showed experience with excellent recovery shots to open with 2k, Dave Anscombe missed his opening break leaving both balls short. Bill got another 1k, Dave came back with 2k and Bill kept his lead throughout from there. 4500-3560 1-4
Think the scoreline flatters us and in some cases it was only the advantage of experience that turned the games. Aa good evening with plenty of banter just a shame that the pub is now spoilt by some loud and foul mouthed locals who seem to take pleasure in trying to ruin other pub users pleasure with their bad manners.

I certainly had the best of the table in game 1, opening with about 8k. After that the table definitely got harder. The usual excellent pizza & garlic bread to follow ;D
