Infamous or Icon??
The end of a troubled life.
Brilliant in his younger days, but will he be remembered for his music or the decidely wierd later years. Judy Garland's legend survived the later years, will Jackson's? I'm not so sure.
Certainly another 'Day The Music Died'
Lots of O2 tickets at ridiculous prices on Ebay still!

The phone companies must be wringing their hands. I've lost count of the number of (fairly predictable) texts I've received and, I'll admit, sent today. Would be a nice gesture if they offered to donate a % of the proceeds to a charity of Michael's familiy's choosing but I can't see that happening.
Whatever you thought of the bloke, a sad day.
Yours reflectively,
Vinny

Sad that some-one so relatively young passes away. The media have had a frenzy just the same as when Princess Diana died. In my humble opinion, the media coverage has been way, way, WAY over the top.
I for one will not mourn his passing.

In my humble opinion, the media coverage has been way, way, WAY over the top. I find myself agreeing with you on that. The Rev Jesse Jackson speech hailing him as the 'greatest entertainer the world has ever known' was stomach-churning. MJ could dance a bit, twirl his body, do the moonwalk and the crutch grab - but he didn't play an instrument. There was a guy who performed at his memorial who is far more talented as a musician: his name being Stevie Wonder.
