Great win for the Gardeners ladies team at the swan tonight equalling the total poins we got the whole of last season!!!
Game 1 Chris Scott 1860 Sheena Wood 2880. Sheena managed to get in front and both players struggling to get the break back during the game. 0-1 Game 2 John Hayward 1170 Sandra Race 2930. John didnt capitalise on having the break and Sandra caught up and then got the break back at the end to play out with 2000ish. 0-2 Game 3 Dave France 5520 Jean Brackenridge 5320. A really good game. My second break shot got a kick and nearly took the black peg out. Dave got the breaK back but come off early. I the got just over 5000 break to lead but Dave then got 3000. Dave got the break back again and got just under 2000. Dave 250 behind was on the the table when the bar went and managed to clear up winning with the last ball down the 100 hole to win. 1-2 Game 4 Vern Blake 4870 Chris Richards 630. Vern broke off with just over 2000 and then played a steady game with Chris unable to get the break back 2-2 Game 5 Terry Denyer 2250 Lorraine Hall 6100 Lorraine didnt go off with many but managed to get the break back and get 4000ish break with Terry unable to ge the break back. 2-3 Well done team. Good top at the Gardeners with the Duke of Wellie coming out 3-2 winners to stay unbeaten.
Neil Higgins 2,650 - 4,550* Chris Tupper Nick Brown 8,080* - 760 Pete Brown Jaqui Adams 760- 3,070* John Perrin Graham Lewis 7,850* - 3,200 Nigel Senior Gary Ridley 3,020 - 6,950* Chris Reeves
Game 1 - A repeat of the inter league decider on Sunday with the same result, Tupps had the break back a few times, as did Neil but he managed to squeak home 0-1
Game 2 - Nick eventually settled to score 8k, Pete had chances but found it difficult to get the balls back. 1-1
Game 3 - Oh regg3y you will give your captain a heart attack by the end of the season :o When a ball is hanging over the 30 hole, yes a 30-50 shot is fairly standard - however it need not be hit at 1,000 miles per hour :o :o!! Also when you are 2k up perhaps just the 30 will do :P???? Seriously though, well done to regg3y on his first win in Worthing this year :D, seems his Brighton form is spilling over onto Thursdays... :D1-2
Game 4 - My old nemesis Graham Lewis offered a small chance after getting 3k, I pegged my attempt at getting the balls back, leaving Graham a straightforward chance, which he took and ended up on 7k. 2-2
Game 5 - Decider betwenn Chris Reeves and Gary Ridley, Chris settled quickly and looked good until 4k and a split whipped the 100 but missed the peg. From there the balls proved very difficult to get back, whichworked in the Wellies favour. Chris did eventually get them back to seal the win for the Wellie 2-3
As I say good top and good venue, just watch the whippy 100 hole and don't go down the back of the table

Dolphin 0 - 5 Swan B
An entertaining evening with the Dolphin two players short. But I doubt if this would have made any difference to the final outcome.
Game 1. Gary Iles v Brian Richards. After an initial problem with the table and balls not returning to the tray it was a slow start by both players but Brian's experience told and he ran out an easy winner. 0 - 1 :(
Game 2. Bob Thomas v Barry Holt Bob got a good start. Barry struggled a bit to find the measure of the table. Barry finally got the break back to pip Bob at the post. 0 - 2 :(
Game 3. Colin Green v Roger Taylor Roger got a 2K - 3K start with his break. Colin found it hard to score throughout the game. Roger got the break back and almost cleared up with a 5K+ break to finish with a score just under 8K. 0 - 3 :(
Game 4 Dave Anscombe v Doug Mahy A rush of blood by yours truly on my opening break resulted in scoring nothing on my break. Doug played well throughout, getting the break back two or three times to end up with 6K+. What do I need to do to start scoring this year let alone win? ::) ::) 0 - 4 :(
Anna Iles v Matthew Squire Once again our super sub came off the bench and played a good game but Matthew's experience told and he ended up winning the last game. 0 - 5 :(
The Dolphin team are good on paper but it seems we are are out of our depth this year and will struggle all season. :( :( :(
Again good food and plenty of banter. :D :D :D :D

Champs Three Horseshoes 100% start continued last night with a crushing 4-1 win at home to the Stadium `A`.
game 1 - Same as last year, Kt v Geoff. And same as last year, Geoff off on 2k, Kt touches up on 9k. 1 - 0 game 2 - Mal opened with 6k, Grant again the opponent couldn`t retrieve the balls. Both players scratches around a bit before Grant got the balls back but too late and he came off soon after. Mal finished off. 2 - 0
game 3 - Martin Smith next v Stu. I don`t think Martin likes our table, 2 matches, 2 losses. :( He never got going. Stu made a steady 2k break and later retrieved the balls to get another 3k, game over, or so you might think. ??? But this is Stu Mepham we`re talking about. I think Mal was telling him not to play any rash shots, waste of time that was Mal !!!!! Back comes a white ball at the speed of .....something, falls in the side of the 200 hole and nudges the black peg for good measure :-/ ::) >:( Lucky Stu, it didn`t fall over and went on to make it 3 - 0 :D Whos` heart was beating the fastest after that little incident...............Answers on a postcard to............ I think it was Mals anyway :P
game 4 - Kev Hall & Mark James had a scrappy first half of their game until Kev got going and finished the table off with an excellent 8k break. 4 - 0
game 5 - For the second home game this season, Paul Reece couldn`t find that little bit of luck to get him going and Tony Lewis saved some face for the visitors by winning the lucky last 4 - 1
Three Horseshoes `B` won 3-2 away at the Henty. Wins for Barry & Adam Squires and you know who...... Yes the lovely Lady H.....again ;) :-* with another score over 5k.

Stadium B 2 Windmill 3
Alan Messer 650 Chris Elliot 4550 Alan had game won only to baffle us all by hitting the black peg from the right side when table roll the other way. C.Cooper 11010 Rick Cunningham 2080 Great game for Charlie who gave Rick only one chance breaking dow at just under 5K Edge Butler 1450 Tery Molloy 11090 Terry off early with just over 1k, but no mistake 2nd time touching up as bar went. Mick Pope 2260 TJ 570 Yes the scores are right. A joke of a game played by two clowns and even after the bar went Mick hit one too hard and got away with the red going down 200 without disturbing the black. Gina Sherratt 620 Bill Kerr 9660 Again down to Mr reliable, who broke down on just over 1K, but left balls awkward. Bill got break back and touched up with game over.
Great sporting evening where the game turned on a peice of bad luck for Alan. Good banter and pleasant atmosphere as one always expects from the Stadium B.

I should imagine your thoughts right now match mine, TJ, as I'm still hurting from Wednesday. :'( And as you were kind enough to refer to my 'mare as a 'bad day in the office', I'll reciprocate by saying: don't beat yourself up about it: Form is a fickle lady, and you're good enough to bounce back. ;)

Cheers Clive, sure it was only a blip and as I have always thought, all said and done it is only a game and did pick the side correctly for a 3-2.

Nige and KT both on heart attack ally with their players, at least it is me as captain that causes my team to pull their hair out ( when they can find it ). Quite vocal support when I decide to have one of my clown nights and at least Bill can`t catch me using crutchesnand have worked out the range I need to keep so he cannot belt me one with them. 8-) 8-) 8-)
