Flippin 'eck Chris, doesn't 2 weeks on a nice sunny beach sound better? ;D Seriously though, that sounds like the adventure of a lifetime, take it easy, keep safe and dont forget to share the photos when you get back.
Good luck
Bernie

Good to hear from you Sav :D
Don't think the Royal Enfield was designed to cope with 17,000 feet above sea level ;D
It must have been a real experience to travel like that through rural India :o
Best of luck for the return mate :D

Yes and the Royal Enfield shouldn't seem so gutless coming back down the mountainside ! ;)

Sav three miles highArrived back today and am knackered from jetlag and overnight flying. Had one hell of an expedition to places I never dreamt I would see. Equal oldest in the trip. Ridden a gutless Royal Enfield up rocky tracks to 17000ft with unguarded thousand foot drops, had omelette and tea for 35p in home made tents from old parachutes at top of passes, seen kids with nothing who will always wave, thousands of Indians with CHIPPING hammers breaking up rocks for a gravel road. India is a wonderful organised chaos where so many live in lean-to shelters, but have that sense of comradeship now missing in our society. One of only three who did not fall off during the trip and also one of a few warned for excessive speed, the only one to do both. Kids with no education at a charity school who clamour to see you. I hope to be able to help them. So much more to tell but need time to reflect on the experience of a lifetime. Sav

Great picture, Sav. (A picture tells a thousand words.)
Pleased to hear that you, the bike (and the goat ?) all made it home safely.

Welcome back 'old man' and look forward to hearing more but wonder how well many of the modern bikes would have coped with such an ordeal :-/
