Just before i go to bed i`d like to congratulate the Stadium A on winning the Premier title tonight. I`m not sure of their final score but win they did. We did what we had to do in beating the Stadium B at home, just in case their A side slipped up at home to the Duke of Wellie. Scores in more detail tomorrow :)

I would also like to congratulate the Stadium on winning the Worthing title yet again.
We needed to beat them to stop them winning it, but after our defeat last week putting us out of the running, we went into the last match with a different mentality than normal, both me and Chris attempting to go for large breaks.
Neither of us played well (Chris miscueing twice to lose two breaks despite winning) and Martin Smith took the crucial leg off me with a steady 9k break. At 2-1 down I put on Tupps and he looked set to make it a decider when Geoff missed early and he made 5k. Geoff chased that down well though and brought thte title to the Stadium.
I would like to thank my team this year, both Tupps and Chris have played brilliant all season. Our new players Pete and John have battled well and picked up some great wins. Winning our first 8 matches was unbelievable really and ,although we tailed off a little towards the end of the season, if a couple of matches had gone our way we could have ended up winning the whole thing. I hope we stick together and give it another go next year.
A really great season where 4 teams could have won the Premiership, and another, the Windmill, showed they were also capable of winning it also when they are surely made a Premier team next year.

Not me - I have one ;) Brighton title Sav put's his hand up with twenty four league division one titles in Dover & Deal ;D 8-) Four for the Rose & Crown a long time ago and then twenty for the Alma. Five runners-up in the last six years as well grrrr. >:( Now playing for the BALLS team (Betteshanger Alma Lions League Side)

Good night at the Dolphin with the Windmill running out 3-2 winners. Table playable, although one or two rolls kept you on your toes. Break very nice and one up easily left where you wanted it, many scores lost though due to whippy pockets.
Steve Hurley 2180 2090 TJ Steve wins on the 100 although TJ left it short twice.
Bob Thomas 3970 4030 Terry Molloy Both players had their chances, a bit of a distraction when scores cocked up probably affecting both players concentration.
Roy Marsh 60 7880 Rick Cunningham Good game from Rick although Roy helped his cause by four timing wghen scores were about level.
Dave Anscombe 6530 790 Steve Aylmore Very steady game from Dave giving Steve very little table time.
Colin Green 790 4300 Bill Kerr Bill going well at over 3k when some drunken tw*t started p***ing about behind the players. Although he was quickly put in his place disturbed all concentration. Colin struggled with the whippy top end and never really got going.
Excellent season from my team, with only loosing out to the Stadium on games difference to be overall top. winning the First convincingly, and being second overall with the other premiers below them being a wonderful achievement. Remember there is no difference in the format of how games are played, and this makes us deserved Div one winners and runners - up overall.
Well done to the Stadium on another title, and a great run in to overtake those out ahead of them with about four weeks to go. Nigels` team having a great season and bringing on two players who have showed marked improvement for playing with and being encouraged by their peers. Another cracking season in the Worthing league, and still cup and plate semis/finals to be decided.
Thanks again to my team for their sterling effort.

Only the likes of Sheardy, or McCluskey/Sainsbury may be close in their leagues i reckon. Checked my Brighton records for the player(s) with the most titles - by my reckoning the Dyke team of Chris Tupper, Colin Smith, Dave Reeves and Mick Winder have 15 league titles at the various pubs they have played at since around 1978.

Three Horseshoes `A` 4 Stadium `B` 1
Good win for the Shoes over an in-form Stadium `B`side, knowing we needed to win to have any chance of over-hauling the Stadium `A` for the title.
Kt 10590 Alan Messer 1640 - Alan twice misjudged the pace and left the 100 short on the split. I got them back straight away and touched on at 10k 1 - 0
Mal 3630 Charlie Cooper 2870 - Couldn`t work out who wanted this one. Mal opened with just under 3k and Charlie got to within 1500 and that`s how it stayed. 2 - 0
BB Warrior 7180 Mick Pope 2520 - Mick made two breaks for his score before Dave got them back and made nearly 6k and out of reach. 3 - 0
Stu 6490 Edge Butler 1070 - Stu opened with a nice 5k and stayed comfortably ahead 4 - 0
BB Reaper 2860 Gina 6290 - Gina had a nice break on Wednesday on our top and continued to play well on it last night. Kev chased the balls all over and didn`t get them back until near the end. 4 - 1
I want to thank my team (regulars & reserves) for their efforts this season. I couldn`t have asked for more from Mal or Kev, both improved on last years`figures, Mal was 13/17 last year, 15/18 this. Kev was 9/9 last year, 10/7 this. BB Warrior has joined us and won 4 from 5. Ricky when available won 5 from 7. Paul Reece added new blood as well and after a poor start, ended with 4 from 10 and Stu (not too many heart stoppers) won 5 from 12. My secret weapon (Leon), only managed the one appearance this time (two last year), but he does have to be working either in Sussex or somewhere nearby to be able to make it. Mr H managed two appearances and won one. Congrats again to Ian and his team, we`ll have it back next year ;) Thanks also goes to Geoff & Sandra at the Shoes for all the fab food throughout the season. I don`t think there were many empty stomachs after our home matches :P They will be missed when they eventually leave :-/

As promised the full version from the Swan A v Gardeners B Super sub found himself being subbed in Rafa's(Sorry Vern's) squad rotation
Dave France 12310-3210 Nick Brown Nick off at around 1k,Dave with the break straight back ended up at around 7k,Nick tried to chase but only managed another 2k leaving Dave to finish off 1-0
Ron Brewer 4530-5010 Barney Ron made a few small breaks while Barney had 4 attempts to score, after a while he got the measure of the table and came by Ron to win 1-1
Vern Blake 3920-6730 Gary Ridley Dont remember much of the details, only that Vern left it too late to do anything 1-2
Chris Scott 2330-2320 Tony Burgess Nip and tuck game this one, each player getting his nose in front.Tony unable to clear enough balls after the bar dropped leaving Chris to pot the 200 at the first attempt to win 2-2
Terry Denyer 630-9210 Neil Higgins Much closer at the start than the score suggests,Neil having a bit of trouble,Terry having a lot. When Neil did get the hang of it he made the split look very easy, just as Dave had done in the first game 2-3
Well another season comes to an end,I played more than I thought I was going to and did manage to win a game(sorry Brian),lets hope that my circumstances change and I can play a fuller part for the team next season

Just like to add my congratulations to the Stadium - well done on another title
but what a great league to play in where every game has to be hard won and the competition fierce but fair and played by really good people to know.

I was only counting my base league. There's a few Canterbury titles as well. Sav Can't hold a candle to Sav, KT, Sheardo etc, but I can sort-of match Ian with 18 Div 1 titles. But they are spead across FOUR leagues. I bet no-one can match that ! ;) I have 3 Horsham, 2 Crawley, 1 Billingshurst and 12 Mid Sussex Championships to my name ( venues: Brewery Shades, Bell, Windmill Crawley, Green Dragon and Handcross Club)

Gardeners `A` 2 - 3 Swan `B`.
Brian Richards beat his better half Chris in the first. Caroline Retfaldi beat Barry Holt in the second. Phil Oakley beat Sheena Woods in the third. Roger Taylor beat Lorraine Hall in the fourth. Jean Brackenridge beat Matthew Squire in the fifth.
Excellent match, the Gardeners carried on there form of the week before, but could not quite get there.
