1st leg
Swan `B` 3 Three Horseshoes 2
Doug Mahy 100 v 4,400 Sir kt - I think this game set the trend for the evening. Doug opened with just over 1k and then missed a ball behind the 20 pocket. I then built a nice 9k break only to thin a split and take out the right hand peg. This gave Doug the break back and he then sunk the balls 4 times ::) to let me in again. This time i managed to keep my score. 0 - 1
Matt Squire 2,810 v 4,000 Mr Reaper - Kev left his first one up short and then it turned into a very scrappy game with both players having several chances. Kev just edged it. 0 - 2
Brian Richards 8,460 v 1,250 Geoff J. - Geoff was going nicely on about 4k when he thinned the same split as myself and took the same peg (dodgy piece of table?). Brian built a steady lead, but did whip out on the splt, this time missing the peg and pulled one back for the Swan. 1 - 2
Dipper 9,010 v 3,220 3 times champ - Roger didn`t open with many and then left a one up short. A good position for Jim to retrieve the break, but a thick split saw him off and Roger took advantage to level the match. 2 - 2
Barry 9,170 - 3,090 Ian L. - Ian was off early but got them back, only to whip out up the top, therefore giving Barry a good chance which he took. 3 - 2
So a nicely poised match, either team could have won 5 - 0 on the night. I suppose the Swan are just edging favouritism with 3 breaks to come at the Shoes next Thursday (that is if the pegs don`t go flying again) ;)

Three Horseshoes 3 Swan `B` 3 (A.E.T.) :-/
Well, I did say after the 1st leg that the Swan might be slight favourites, but the way it was won didn`t tell the whole story.
3 Timeschamp 14,520 v 380 Matt Squire - Comfortable start for Jim, opening with 10k. 1 - 0
Geoff J. 2,270 v 8,510 Brian Richards - Second week running that Brian has beaten Geoff although this time, Brian certainly had the run of the balls. A thick split saw the red miss the 50 and the white drop short of the 100 hole, only for the red to fall back in the hole. Brian played a good clearance up the middle but on his next shot fluked a 100 and regained the break there after. 1 - 1
Ian L. 1,000 v 10,870 Dipper - Roger opened with a steady 6k and Ian retrieved the balls straight away. His second split was played too forcefully and whipped into the peg, leaving Roger to finish off. 1 - 2
Mr Reaper 12,040 v 1,380 Barry Holt - A lot of pressure at this point on Kev, knowing he had to win to give us a chance in the last. Although he was off initially at about 2k, he got them back on his next visit and made enough to level the match. 2 - 2
Sir kt 4,530 v 4,090 Doug Mahy - Another rematch from last week with the same outcome and the same amount of chances for both players. Two visits saw Doug with a 4k lead. I got them back but black pegged up the middle. A last ditch effort saw me just catch Doug to take us into a decider. 3 - 2
Barry opened up with 8k in about 10 and a half minutes, I replied with 6k and going well, only for the ball to move when playing another split. Game over :(
Good luck to the Swan in the Finals
