A cracking match with some high quality play saw the Three Horseshoes progress to the final at the expense of the Brewery Tap at the Romans by the narrow score of 3-2.
Rose M 3260 - 11440 Stu M - Rose blown away in the first match, very worried we were in for a stuffing Phil R 4800 - 1150 Pete H - an excellent performance from Phil, drawing us level with a couple of decent breaks Dan D 850 - 3170 Ben G - definitely the match winner as Dan has taken the lead in the game but loses concentration over the score and misses the 50 off the break and it slowly rolls towards the black and :'( :'( knocks it over. Ben stays in front 1-2 Matt K 3010 - 1230 Loz H - a solid win for Matt breaking his run of defeats, I had a good run of the balls helped by Loz knocking the white peg over at virtually every visit ::) 2-2 Adam R 9070 - 14610 Kev T - the decider is won in convincing fashion as Kev shows his class although on his first 1 up shot the white almost slipped by!
Excellent banter throughout the evening on a really good table, congratulations to the Shoes on their victory. I must say well done to 'my' team at the Tap as this was only our second defeat in eleven matches - no wooden spoon in the Summer at least 8-) 8-) Thanks to all our opponents and to Nige for some handicaps that helped us.

News from the other match.
Windmill 3 - 2 POW
Wins for Gina (a game that was quite close for most of the time) V John 1-0 Steve (in control the whole time) V Ali 2-0 Dave (as above only more so) V Trace 3-0 Jason (pulled one back winning by 10ps) V Mal (playing for as many 200s as he could) Dave (About the best I've seen him play for a while, despite losing his opening 1300 break) V Charlie
Pizza called in at the last minute as the Schooner had know idea we had a match on. A pleasure to lose to such a nice bunch of people and the POW wish them luck in the final next week.
