We have EIGHT entries (possibly a record in recent years) for the Under-22 Individual Championship to be staged at Didcot Cons Club on Feb 17th. The schedule has been finalised and copies will be sent out early next week. Thanks

Hi Pete, can you let us know who the eight entrants are in the under 22s please. Lewis Stratford should be one of these but as no one has confirmed this we're a bit in the dark

Lewis Stratford, Adam Thorn, Melissa Standbridge, Dave Bartlett, Chris Ellam, Chris Storch, Ian Gordon and Sam Alder.
I would like to thank Ray Sturgess for enrolling most of these. I hope too much frogmarching will not be required. All are from Oxford and Wallingford, except Sam from Reading. Bring your homework guys, it will be a long day.
I hope I have their names spelt correctly. I have a reputation to uphold. I assume all were born since 1.1.1986 as per the rules.

Closing date was Feb1st as you would know if you had attended the AGM. But I also concur with the above comment from Clive (although I would have said 32 years). The format had to be completed last weekend as that is the only time I had before sending out details for the day. There is always a chance if anyone drops out.

Well obviously I wasn't asking about myself ::), but we have two young lads who play in our team :D,two promising youngsters :D I never saw any newsletter (doubt if they did either) and the inter area section on this forum is bereft of news in that dept ???, but now that you are a user again I'm quite confident that information will be forthcoming :D

Can I suggest you bring them down. But we may have to switch to a KO event as it is already a long day.
There may be other ideas floating around.
I hate saying "no" to having more youngsters taking part, so let me know if they will definitely be there and I will see what options we have. There was also (apparently) a chance of an extra player or two from Oxon.

What's a 'long day' Pete? does that mean we have got to be hanging around for hours on end with no series games?

You guys are always on about "hanging around"! ???
As usual, every team starts their 1st game at 12.0, their 2nd game at 2.0 and their third game at 4.0. Every group comprises FOUR teams so there is NO "sitting out".
Currently, the final is scheduled for 6.00 and presentations at 6.45. Please note (for everyone not at the AGM) we are crying out for volunteers to take the tables down at 6.45, so don't rush away. But I think that is long enough, don't you?
Unless someone would like to donate the cost of a 10th table, it is physically impossible to get it in any earlier. Even without the Under-22s, you have 38 legs to be spread over 9 tables which requires 5 series, which takes virtually two hours.
The original eight Under-22s would have fitted on to the spare tables nicely. If we extend that on a group basis, it would have to extend the day a bit.
Look, I am offering to consider the best ways to accommodate everybody. So let's consider everyone rather than worrying about having to wait for your next game.
Here's a suggestion! Support your teammates, and possibly even the youngsters. Either that, or bring your knitting. I could do with some winter woollies! ;D :-*
