Both Worthing Masters competitions were held at the Dolphin today (excellent venue for this event).
Congratulations to Geoff Jukes for winning his first Masters title, beating Mark James (both Atlas players) in the final. Geoff played the table out for 14,780 in the 1st leg. Mark replied with 11,860 and returned to the table only to fall short by 1,200, great final.
Geoff bt Charlie Cooper, Martin Smith & Brian Richards on his way whilst Mark came through definitely the tougher half, beating Tony Lewis, Chris Reeves & Nigel Senior.
In the `B` Masters, history was made when Lady H :-* won back to back titles (the first time anyone has won this title twice as well). She beat Bob Thomas from the Schooner `B` in the final. Chasing a deficit of 1,550, she gradually pulled it back and made a crucial 1k as the bar dropped. Spooky though :o, she done exactly the same last year in the same week - winning 3/3 in the County champs and then following up with her Masters win :o ::) :P
Bob took out Richard Bulling, Chris Oakley & Dave Roberts on his way whilst Hayley beat Dave Anscombe, James Whittle & Terry Stapleton, this also from the harder part of the draw.
High breaks went to Nigel (17,710) in the A comp & Ben Goodwin (8,200) in the B.
Ian Lelliott & Mark Senior won the plate competitions

A good day, and well done to Ben on his excellent break in the B competition. Venue ideal for this comp, and well played Geoff to win first masters.
