Another successful day at the Dolphin with this year`s Off the Spot competition. 24 players split into 4 groups of 6, giving a minumum of 5 games to each player, the winner and runner up going through to the main 1/4 finals, the 3rd & 4th placed players into the plate 1/4 finals.
1/4 finals I.Lelliott bt D.Ingram T.Jenner bt N.Higgins Sir kt bt M.James C.Reeves bt N.Senior
Semis Ian bt TJ Kt bt Chris - a bit fortunate to win this one with Chris seemingly on a winning break when he touched on, mistakenly thinking the bar had dropped, leaving me just enough time to finish off and nick the win :P
Final - Ian broke off with a steady 5k+ and then played very cagey with some difficult balls up the table and choosing not to clear them. 5,830 - 460 I broke off with over 2k and had yet another kick on the break, fortunately the white went in but two shots later, i was off. Ian still chose to play safely and i managed to retrieve the balls, building another break, having the same kick as before but staying on this time. Eventually, i left a one up short but Ian didn`t take advantage and in the end lost by 690.
Stu Mepham came through to beat Gina in the plate final.
Thanks to Suzy and her staff at the Dolphin, we look forward to next year already ;D

As already said a great day, some fantastic scores off the spot, and both finals competitive to the end.
