It has just come to my attention that the scores and results from the Mens County championships Div 1 & 2 haven`t been put up. With the Div 3 results going up yesterday, i`ve had several calls as to where they are? When I was captain of Oxon, I used to keep my own records so as to answer anything thrown at me, but now i have no need to.
It is 4 weeks since we played those matches, so I can see why the Ladies (3 weeks ago) are getting annoyed too.
If there is a problem putting these results up soon after they are played, I would be glad to help :)

I think the fact that all of the results are on the website within one week of the county season ending is pretty good actually! Perhaps I spoilt you too much with results on the forum the next day when I ran the events myself….
It is a bit of a question as to what players want. The forum isn’t a great place to put detailed results in my opinion – they don’t look right and get lost in a myriad of other posts. If I want to find the results from a couple of years ago (yes I am an anorak at times) I would have to sift through a load of posts on the website. I would rather get Sav to put them on the website and have all the results in a central place, looking nice, and people can print them off to keep their own records – but of course it may take a little longer to get them on there.
There is no point me sending stuff to Sav every week. I had always planned to send all the county stuff at the end of the county season on the 18th Oct. Yes county div 1 and 2 does get played 28th Sept, but lets not forget division 3 which gets played on 18th Oct. There is no point me sending Sav the results on the 28th Sept without div 3. It all gets sent together on the same spreadsheet as it is one competition.
And of course we have the newsletter, which is my report of what has happened over the last two months, it provides a little bit of narrative to events which gives a bit extra to the figures that appear on the website and can be put in pubs. So for me to put an additional report on the forum would be just me repeating myself – but as I have said before, lets see some reports from people who were there, they don’t have to be AEBBA members, but why not the players themselves?
We can use all three resources (website, the forum and the newsletter) effectively and everyone should get the info they want. Lets not forget the BBQ was great but it was at the time the only resource of getting word of the game, and we would then wait up to 3 months for detailed results. We also then only got one persons’ opinion – we now get many opinions via the forum which is healthy for the game.
If anyone did want the results from any competition, all they have to do is email me, it is easy for me to email them back the results if they want to see them before they appear on the website. But noone has asked me for a copy results of any results this year – in fact only 1 person took me up on this when I offered this 4 years ago when they asked for a copy of the county results.

RE Nigel's comments on posting results on here.
They are normally posted on Proboards as pictures hosted on tinypic etc. because it is very difficult to tabulate results on here. Free hosting gives the pictures a limited life before they are removed as we found with Glenn's forum backgrounds. That is not the way to keep results, the AEBBA website (or another) is the only way to keep results in the public eye long term,
Sav
