Hi, does anyone have a list of venues for the league, someone has asked me for tables in Storrington, I don't know if there are any tables that way that your league plays in?

Storrington is more likely to be Mid Sussex as you suspected.
We seem to be more costal/A27 and the suburbs of Chichester.
If they find a venue that would like a table.........! ;D

Storrington is more likely to be Mid Sussex as you suspected. I would say Billingshurst and/or Horsham Leagues, just being outside Mid Sussex's sphere of influence, which does not extend west of the A281. ;)

As far as I know, pulbourough and Storrington come under Horsham pubwatch. As a licensee myself but not of that area, the publicans in that area would regulary attend pubwatch with Horsham licensees so that IMHO would be the best advice for any team looking to join (get their landlord involved and committed). I do know that the Oddfellows in Pulbourough until recent had a table which is 2mins drive from Storrington. However choosing a venue can be difficult with recent increase of driveways and patios being laid in the area!!!!!

Taken from the Billingshurst website, these have been the teams participating in that league from that vicinity (villages to the south of Billingshurst, west of the A24) in the last forty years:
Storrington Royal British Legion (last year 1971/72) Adversane Country Club (last year 1972/73) White Lion B, Thakeham (last year 1973/74) Ashington Social Club B (last year 1974/75) White Lion A , Thakeham (last year 1974/75) White Horse, Storrington (last year 1976/77) Waters Edge, Pulborough (last year 1977/78) Eleven Cricketers, Storrington (last year 1977/78) Arun A, Pulborough (last year 1978/79) Arun B, Pulborough (last year 1978/79) Masons Arms, Petworth (last year 1978/79) Swan A, Pulborough (last year 1978/79) Swan B, Pulborough (last year 1978/79) Angel, Petworth (last year 1979/80) Rising Sun, Nutbourne B (last year 1979/80) Rising Sun, Nutbourne A (last year 1982/83) Queens Head, West Chiltington (last year 1983/84) White Horse,Bury B (last year 1985/86) White Horse, Bury A (last year 1986/87) Rose & Crown, Pulborough (last year 1988/89) Three Crowns, Watersfield (last year 1989/90) Black Dog & Duck, Bury (last year 1991/92) Ashington SocialClub A (last year 1993/94) George & Dragon B, Shipley (last year 2001/02) Bridge Inn, Amberley (last year 2004/05) George & Dragon A, Shipley (last year 2005/06) Black Horse, Byworth (last year 2007/08) Southwater Sports Club B (last year 2009/10)
A few of these have also participated in the Horsham League. As did the Five Bells, West Chiltington, and the one mentioned by VPLster, the Oddfellows Arms of Pulborough. The area under question, though, is the wrong side of the South Downs for the West-Sussex League.
Unfortunately (and I have fond memories of many of these) the only active venue left now is Southwater SC, and the rule seems to be, once they're gone, they're gone. :'(

Hi, does anyone have a list of venues for the league? So we've established which venues have nothing to do with the West Sussex League...................... What about a list of ones which ARE relevant ? At the last count, there seemed to be a healthy dozen: 1 Locomotive 2 Emsworth S & SC 3 Woolpack 4 Henty Arms 5 Victoria Inn 6 Selsey Bill 7 Royal Oak 8 Maypole 9 Cricketers (non-league) 10 Coach and Horses (non-league) 11 Winterton Arms12 The Cabin *Any further information as to the townships for these venues, as well as any non-league venues in your area (Railway, Emsworth ? Langston Cons Club, Havant?) would be useful in helping us to populate the AEBBA's map of bar billiards venues in the UK.*

The Cricketers have moved to the Victoria, Coach & Horses aren't playing & Winterton Arms moved to The Cabin

Does that mean the tables have gone from those venues, Steve, or do they remain as non-League venues?

Colleen & I had a superb evening at The Cabin last night....... definitely worth a visit if anybody is down in that area. ;D ;D ;D
Excellent range of food which was cooked beautifully by Ivan, Colleen had a steak that was so tender she didn't need a steak knife to cut it and I enjoyed a Penne Pasta Carbonara...... while his wife Jo runs the well stocked bar with a small team of very friendly and helpful members of staff. 8-)
The bar billiard table is well positioned in one corner of the room, with darts and pool available as well, we had several games of doubles after our meal with Ivan, Jo, young Daniel (their son), OB1 and TTO before eventually leaving at about 1am...... :o 8-)
We wish Ivan & Jo every success at their new venue...... and look forward to seeing them again very soon as we will definitely be regular visitors. 8-)

Thrilled to have an Ivan and Jo venue back in the league, great food well kept cellar and fantastic hospitality

There used to be a table at the Crown at Cootham on the outskirts of Storrington, not sure if it is still there.

Not currently a West Sussex league venue but would happily welcome a new team or maybe just players looking for a night out and a new venue to visit.
We at the White Hart (Formerly Cob and Pen) in Littlehampton now have a table in place ( and a very good one at that, Thankyou Tim ).
Hope to see you soon.

Well!
The White hart table should be a joy to all! 8-) Have never placed a table in a venue before that has levelled so easily 15 minutes from putting the feet on to more than playable! ;D
It's former incarnations have been the Winterton Arms (Our littlehampton venue) the only thing better than the food and the Betty Stoggs
The Cabin West Sussex interleague table and the sister table to a table Mr H got his wallet out for at the WSBBL knockout weekend! :-X
I can now confirm that there is a table at "The Wickham Arms" Bognor road in Chichester
Tarrat have put the table in and it is AWESOME!.. so awesome that the Riley we were goimg to put in will be staying in Nipper's lounge!!

Hi
Could you remove "The Wickham Arms" please
After the last inter league season the table was out and a small pool table in it's place!
It has been a mixed season there...we are invited back next season but we shall see

Agreed, probably why it's been shunned as a possible league venue.

Been in played on it. Rubbish lol. Very narrow and 50 pockets miles up the table. Tried asking them to bring in a different table. No joy. Lots of interest though

New League venue in the West-Sussex League, according to their website:
HOTHAMPTON ARMS, 49-51 LONDON ROAD, BOGNOR REGIS, W.SUSSEX PO21 1PR.
A stone's through from B/R Station, could well be worth a day trip !
