Hi Sparky
Just looked into the past instead, to see my old school report card... D- for spellin C+ for readin JRR was the 3rd of the 3 books i've managed to complete since my world began. Shocking..... just started on "a brief history of time" dont think i'm gonna make it! Impressed with you're middle earth knowledge though. I'm actually refering to web searches to keep up!

Hi Gandalf
I too had to search for Q's little teaser as couldn't find any similar stuff amongst my Tolkien books, and most of the time I have to double check my very hazy memory after all these years as I first read 'The Rings' in 1960 and reread my hardback 3 volume set several times over the decades and appreciated it differently each time and am starting to want to read it all over again :-/
Later editions have been changed in some ways so that even Quizz answers can have different 'correct' answers, anyway I am not a complete anorak about it just find that I remembered much more about it than I have for almost every other book I ever read. Although the film was very good I still think it a shame that it spoilt/changed my mental image of so many characters and places, and that cannot be reversed, I have found.
could be Sam ;D

I have to profess that my knowledge of Middle Earth is Eshai'du, I loved the books and the films were great but as my learned friend states they did explode some mental images.... but I struggle with English so Elven as a 2nd language is definately out... I used this wonderful site just to be able to respond in an apt manner www.rialian.com/elven-language.htmI am thinking that perhaps a change of name might be timely for myself.... maybe Q the cucumber ;D Harani A'kaheyla de'shanuay.
