Old House at Home 2 Three Horseshoes A 3
First visit to the Old House proved a successful one for the Shoes A. Good break table, quite tricky up the top with it`s left-hand roll :P
Neil H. 320 v 14,540 Sir kt - I broke off with 10k and added another 5k. 0 - 1
Nick B. 15,900 v 90 Chocie - Nick opened with about 4k and was soon back on for another 11k. 1 - 1
Lyn H. 800 v 7,480 Mr Reaper - No Ridders tonight so Lyn had to step in giving Kev a comfortable win 1 - 2
Barney 10,780 v 690 Lolly - Paul opened with about 4k. Chris looked to have a reasonable chance of retrieving the balls when one decided to balance on the rim of the 30 pocket >:( End of chance. Paul made another steady break to level the match. (Boringly splitting most of the game as well) ;D 2 - 2
Tony B. 1,800 v 10,560 Bigjimsilverfox - A welcome return for Jim after his Aussie exploits, opening with about 8k for the win. 2 - 3

Atlas 2-3 Duke of Wellington
No unbeaten teams remain in the top division after Atlas suffer their first defeat at the hands of the Wellie.
Game 1 – Chris Reeves was off at 1300 against Ian Lelliott. Ian had two visits with balls at the top of the table, but it was Chris who got the break back, to secure the leg. 0-1
Game 2 – Grant Tully was business as usual with 10k & touch v John Perrin. 1-1
Game 3 – Nigel Senior offered no chance to Geoff Jukes, again with 10k & touch. It could have been very different, however, as he spilled the cue ball on a 100 split at around 8k. It missed the left-hand peg by the narrowest of margins, accompanied by a sharp intake of breath from everyone watching. 1-2
Game 4 – Martin Smith opened with just under 3k v Chris Tupper. A prolonged period of play at the top of the table culminated in Tupps retrieving the balls, and compiling 6½k, which proved enough to seal the victory. 1-3
Game 5 – In the dead rubber, Mal Spier left the 1-up short on 2k, your reporter was able to make the game safe at first visit.

Marine View A 1 Schooner A 4
Steve Oliver 1290 1530 Rick Cunningham * John Hayes * 1750 1590 TJ Bepo 1010 3470 Bill Kerr * Mat Mason * 1270 4570 Terry Molloy Dave Catchpole 1010 1400 Steve Aylmore *
A most enjoyable evening at the Marine, followed by sauses in a roll and chips. Must say the break went and the one up okay, and left right would split, but top end a lottery with inconsistent roll. After reports of previous matches, nice to hear the Marine say they enjoyed a good sociable evening with all accepting the challange of the table.
