Roll of Honour has been updated in most cases with a little template showing the recent years, but this has been missed for the County Championships Divs 2 and 3.

Are we going to get the updated rankings etc before the end of the year?

Nige has been busy in role as stats man, more badgered than helped, another unsung hero!
I'm applying the updates to the site as they arrive over the next few days.

Apart from maybe a bit of tweaking on the Roll of Honour it all seems pretty complete now to me ! Should keep the "Oxford Badgers" happy ! - A full record of all Opens is shown; - A full transcript of all AEBBA competitions; - National Rankings are completely up-to-date to 31/12/14; - And a link is given to all 6 of Nigel's newsletters. What more could you want ? Only thing left outstanding - probably for a while to come - seems to be the minutes of the 2014 AGM ....

There's a couple of other bits and bobs such as internationals that need completing.

Berks Open, Alt Rules & Grockles V Donkeys added.
I had a problem getting the latest version of the international to load in Internet Exploder and had to clear the cache to get rid of the 2012 version

On behalf of the "Oxford Badgers Association" I find these "Digs" at us in very bad taste and are not needed on this forum, so please cut it out. Milko

Only thing left outstanding - probably for a while to come - seems to be the minutes of the 2014 AGM .... They are late as I said in my post on New Year Resolutions 'no justifying myself' Yeh I did it!! They are currently circulating the AEBBA Officers and Committee for ammendments

Hi Chrissie, Happy New Year to you also and thanks for issuing the AEBBA AGM minutes. Hope I didn't come across as pestering for them, my intention was quite the opposite: to buy you some more time ! Good to have them officialised so early, in time for the second half of the leagues' seasons.......I can now report to my league that there are no new changes to the Playing Rules of which we have to be aware ! Regards, tommo x

Chrissie finds the same, I find the same, it's been like it for a few days. Probably something to do with the "new Front End" which is being worked on.

My apologies but the AEBBA website is down as I have resigned all of my many responsibilities to AEBBA following the incident in Guernsey with the AEBBA Vice Chairman.
The entire contents of the website is freely available to any new webmaster. The placeholder page redirecting to the forum will remain for now. The URL can be released from my ownership.

What a regrettable situation we now find ourselves in !
The AEBBA website hasn't been updated in 2015 and its whole future now lies in jeopardy. But the website is probably only a minor consideration when compared to the other services Chris has performed for many years as a labour of love - and which I presume he will now be relinquishing.
We now await a mission statement from the All-England Bar Billiards Association on the way forward.

This is NOT an official statement on behalf of AEBBA.... however I would advise that the AEBBA Committee have been discussing both the website and other situations during the past few weeks, unfortunately some of the key people involved have been on holiday during this period and that has delayed some communications on all sides.
Hopefully we will be in a position to move forward very soon and I am sure that an official announcement will be made once decisions have been made.

Just to list our concerns then on the subject of the AEBBA Web Site only (to which this thread is dedicated):
1. The website's followers were eagerly anticipating the early July update: will this now happen ?
2. Will anyone willing to take it on receive a crash course on how to do the updates ?
- and, more to the point,
3. Do updates still work ? (Sav announced earlier in the year that he had lost the "Frontpage" update facility.)
I would imagine that A.E.B.B.A. would struggle to provide an answer to these specific points at this moment in time........

There is no dependence on Front Page and has not been for a number of years, that problem was a couple of regional websites (Sussex?). I removed Front Page dependency when the industry move away from them became obvious.
The site is simple HTML, that I maintain in Microsoft Web Expression (free now I believe) with a donationware menu structure and FTP to the site with an old free version of WS_FTP. I have recently heard there is a problem with some mobiles using the menus, I don't use a mobile so cannot comment. A potential fix is available, but I have not applied it as no-one has actually reported to me details of the problem.
Re my resignation. that went in on 6th May so I waited a month without AEBBA reaction and then shut down the site and asked to be removed as a signatory, my apologies for the inconvenience caused.

FTP to the site with an old free version of WS_FTP. So to the layman, any FTP (File Transfer Protocol) agent such as Filezilla would work equally well. Only other considerations for anyone willing to take it on are the Domain (URL) ownership and the Internet Service Provider - both presumably to be funded by AEBBA from now on. Sav - you've owned the site for 10 years now. Losing one of my websites would be like losing a limb to me - I've grown attached to them. Are you sure you want to give it all up ? What would it take for you to reconsider ?

It's a thing to have happened but rest assured that something will happen shortly wrt the website - don't panic!! May I personally thank Chris for maintaining the site so brilliantly for so many years and ensuring that this essential archive of information is there for everyone to use and consult. Whoever takes it on will have a very hard act to follow. Thanks Sav. Tony

Website issue aside, may I enquire about when and how a statement is going to be made regarding Chris Saville’s resignation? Chris deserves more plaudits for his work for our game then anyone I know, and I would like to lead those, but I’ve been waiting patiently for someone to confirm the current state of play if you get my drift as I don’t wish to jump the gun.

Chris has been/is outstanding in all that he has done/does - Trying to get together a number of people at the same time and date to ensure a solution, all of whom have other commitments, holidays and so on is hard... especially as all of us work !!! Before worrying about a statement from the AEBBA, which this forum is not AEBBA - may I ask you worry more about capacity and sustainability of the AEBBA including the officers and committee. Please remember like Chris S these are all volunteers. They like him give their time freely, yes he gave an extraordinary amount. Let's though have some more volunteers, with solution focussed answers please

Please remember like Chris S these are all volunteers. They like him give their time freely, yes he gave an extraordinary amount. Let's though have some more volunteers, with solution focussed answers please Thanks for the update Chrissie, Don't get me wrong I'm not worried, merely enquiring as to what the official state of play was. I'm sure like myself many people are understandably concerned as to what's happening, and how certain gaps are going to be filled. We all recognise how tirelessly people like yourself work, so an official update or request for help if needed would be appreciated. I'm wondering how that's going to come about with this forum not being used for any official communication from our governing body, and a website that currently does not exist to post AEBBA related information? I feel a little left in the dark.... As as to worrying about AEBBA, I'm afraid Ive taken a back seat from putting forward ideas hence no longer worry anymore. That's a bad thing to say I know so please don't take it the wrong way, it's just that there is always the feeling of put up or shut up whenever I make suggestions, and not being prepaired to do the work myself leaves me feeling resented for even given my thoughts... Hence I don't give them. Sad I know given my history with the forum, but true none the less.
