Are you lot going to do that 8 counties challenge for Cancer Research UK again? If so I would love to take part (for Cambridge) I think it was a huge success from the review I read. These kind of events is really the way forward for Bar Billiards, not is it a sport or game! ::)

I wouldn't think anything would be done this year Johnny even though last year was extremely successful raising about £5k. It took a huge amount of planning by some of the Northants lads and involved a lot of people in all the counties being kind enough to give up their time and support the event. It was a good weekend though and really good meeting other players round the country even if as the driver I'm probably the only one to remember what happened ;D
PS We also had the Handcross Club back to our place for a return match which was another excellent night ;D ;D

Herr Von is right. It was an amazing weekend and I would love to do it again. I have spoken to Lolly about organising another but we are afraid that it may be too quick after the other (even though it has been a year now now). It also took an amazing amount of organising which my mate did a fantastic job doing as I was in Bulgaria the two weeks prior to the event!! Maybe we should start an opinion poll on it??? ;D

:o ;D How about a bar billiards 'exchange scheme'. Burton Cons could be twinned with another pub/club in the UK (say in Bournmouth, Plymouth or somewhere else sunny). Spend a weekend in free digs, steal all the women, drink all the drink and maybe play some billiards!! 8-) ;D

It is tragic that he died :'( I would hold one in support of him and to the rest of the people with cancer. Then Bar Billiards will be more than a pub game! A good generous image we can set!

BUMP !
Was talking to Jason at Reading, and he mentioned that the Eight Counties challenge might be a goer again next year. 8-)
There are many of us down here (south of Watford) who will extend a Northants touring team a warm welcome. Finding venues in Surrey and Sussex not a problem.
And Simon Tinto wishes it to be known (today) that he will stand you all a round of drinks.
We look forward to hearing of developments. 8-)
