Just for confirmation,
Headlands FC 2 Burton Cons 2
Richard Botterill 6730 won Chris Lawman 2400
Nick Faulkner 5940 Lst Simon Coleman 6310
Dave Evans 4560 Won Ian Coleman 2160
Richard Botterill /Dave Evans 0 Lost Chris Lawman/Ian Coleman 4330
Burton cons won 5-3 overall
After being 3-1 up and 10,000 ahead one would think that it could all be straight forward, err err, not likely. Having to give away more points in handicaps than the 10,000 lead plus playing on a far from level table made life difficult, Simon was the hero for Burton giving away 5000 in handicap he clawed his way to a very unlikely 4000 break to finish his leg, with the match going to the last leg, Burtons lead was 2490 after the handicap was taken, Richard and Dave looked likely to out score Chris and Ian , but in the end experience showed the Cons through to their first 'New summer league' final . Hard luck to the FC side, nice bunch of guys, looking forward to them hopefully competing in the winter.
Exiles 3 Headlands A 1
Ian Jellis 1800 lst Kevin Ross 4940
Mick Loake 5580 won Kevin Ayres 2230
Roo Hare 3920 won Matt Thomson 3280
Mick / Leigh 2700 won Kevin Ross/ Ayres 710
Exiles won 5-3 overall
This game also went to the last leg, exiles behind after the first frame never looked back winning the next three, but things could've been different had the headlands had won the last game due to a better aggregate score,
So an all Burton Cons final :)
First leg of the final is Sept 4th, Exiles at home first, second leg sept 11th.

Almost as much excitement is being generated for this big Burton Cons showdown as you get in Canadian wrestling. www.wrestlingdotcom.com/news/54182159.phpPerhaps a twinning with Ottowa should be considered ? ;)

Yes it should be a good final, the format for our summer league evens things up, the fact that this final is played on one board makes it even more enthralling, looking forward to it, Hasta la vista baby :D

I think Jel is away for the first leg Si :'( Disaster, Steve Oram is away for the first leg and Chris is away for the second :-[ that means that simon will have to play both legs which is good news for you exiles as you'll be receiving more points from Si than you've ever scored before :P :-X :-*, and on a dodgy board ::)and with crap balls, well 2 crap ones, good job this summer cup is for fun only else i might not bother turning up for such a one sided match :'(
