Schooner v Dyke A
As usual with the Dyke a competitive game with plenty of banter, some interesting games on a table that took no prisoners, if you did not keep your thinking head on. Apparently by the amountof seconds consumed a very good pasta to follow.
Chris Tupper opened with 1.8k agasinst Dave Anscombe who no matter what he tried could not get the break back. Chris did and made sure. 690-5790 0-1
Rick Cunningham played the best game of the night opening with a winning 7k break against Jeff Dosbon who suffered the same fate as Dave at top end of table. 9380-540 1-1
Colin Smith off at 1.5k, TJ couldn`t get them back, Colin extended lead to 3k. Tj break back cocked split up at just under 1k. 1970-3660 1-2
Dave Ingram going well at over 4k on opening break, left one short in front of 100 hole hit it going up table but took peg. Kev Simmonds opened up a 2k lead and then game developed into top of table scrap 560-3870 1-3
Mick Winder opened with 2k. Bill Kerr got them back first off at 1k, but did get them back again and made sure 4290-3870
3-2 to Dyke, a deserved win and thanks for the usually entertaining evening.

Dyke B 5 - Wellie B 0
Mick 4080 - Nick 1490 Terry C 12190 - Mark 0 Terry M 11500 - Me 1500 Doug 3450 - Tim 3020 Terry R 8060 - Garry 1280
A couple of interesting games. Nick lost a break or three that could have made it closer againt Mick Garry started really well against Terry R but left a ball in front of the left hand peg. You can guess what happened. Tim & Doug played the game of the night. Not high scoring but very nip and tuck.
Thanks to the Dyke team for an enjoyable evening. Also good to see The Albion with some good beer again.

Three Horseshoes 3 Windmill 2
It was hard giving the Windmill 5 breaks on their own tricky table (which we lost), then we had to do the same last night on a better one, this time scraping the win.
Sir kt 7,930 v 1,660 Edge - Edge off quite early. It took half the game before i managed to get them back and take the leg. 1 - 0
Martin S. 8,100 v 5,970 Mal - Mal opened with a steady 5k. Martin retrieved the balls immediately and made a very good reply for a win. 2 - 0
Mr Reaper 4,790 v 5,720 Charlie - Charlie was off early also. Kev had a couple of breaks to establish a lead, but Charlie finished off with about 4k for the leg. 2 - 1
Ian 4,200 v 9,190 Dave F. - Dave off early under 2k. Ian looked to be going well but whipped a 100 that stopped in front. Ian played safe to keep the score but Dave got them back and went on to win. 2 - 2
Geoff 5,970 v 2,610 Gina - Geoff secured the points with a steady break after Ginas early attempts were in valn. 3 - 2

Hove Park Tavern 2-3 Brewery Tap
A very enjoyable evening at the Tavern on what both sides agreed was a very tough table
P.Whitcomb 1780 - 3700 P.Reay A.Whitcomb 1530 - 910 L.Norris V.Watts 4750 - 1960 D.Davis P.Muckle 1730 - 2450 M.Knight I.Crowtear 1410 - 2000 S.Noble
First two games going with the break and then Vince won against the break to give the home side the lead. I managed to overturn an 800 deficit and then Spencer won a very scrappy last match to give the Tap a tight win. Only Vince and Phil (in the first match) could find any consistency on the break.
