Hi,
Does anyone know of a team that require a player for the winter league this year. If so I would be delighted to find out more.
Many thanks,
Lorin

Found out last night that Burton Park were struggling to make a team for winter league. Unfortunately the guy at the club had the table taken out straight away before anyone else was aware of it so we've got a few more players without a team. Another nail in the BB coffin.

That's tragic. One wonders what happens to the table once it goes - just straight back into Mr Hussey's stock, or was there another venue waiting ? Does he have a surfeit of tables to rent out, or a shortage ? It is so difficult to find a decent new venue in this day and age. We tried it in and around Crawley when we lost the Black Dog venue : Mick Wright and myself visited over twenty pubs without finding anywhere suitable that might accept a table for us to play in the Redhill League. In the end Gail Woods got us in as the Flying Scud D (for which we were grateful) but it meant a journey of 11+ miles for a home game. :(

I should think the tables gone into mothballs Clive :'( It's a shame as there were some nice lads in the team who were also decent players including a couple of up and coming young uns but they couldn't muster a regular team for this season :-/

the trouble is that most of there players will not bother to play the game ever again >:( so any efforts put in over the years trying to encourage them has most likely been largely wasted. a real shame as some of there players were quite keen but i doubt they will join another team. hope i'm wrong though.
