I stress that Surrey are the 'guinea pigs' - and confidence of other counties in the new arrangement will ensue as a result of a first 'smooth hire'. Regarding our weekend event just past at the St Nicholas School, Merstham, the Redhill Committee wish to express their extreme satisfaction with the new arrangement of bar billiards table hire from the AEBBA. :) :) :) The tables arrived when we were told they would, all the kit was there, including extension leads which we hadn't asked for, and the charges levied were reasonable and within our budget. The team providing them (Dave Alder plus helpers) were both friendly and co-operative, and even helped us out by delivering our 'own' two tables back up the road in the van to the Limes on the way back. So a big "well done" and thank you once again. 8-) Tommo (Redhill Gen Sec.)

2. Oxfordshire Open - no apparent hitches, Pete Ewins and Tony Willis were able to run a smooth tournament on tables of excellent quality.
3. Sussex County Interleague Annual One-Day Competitions (two full weekends played at Roffey Social and Sports Club) - Sussex usually hire tables from the local table operator but no more than four tables were available, so they decided to try out the new AEBBA facility. This removed the need for supplementary privately owned tables having to be drafted in / tables having to be 'borrowed' from local pubs / Club's own table having to be used which would extend the competition into the other (crowded) bar - as happened last year. Jean and Alan ran all four competitions like clockwork, and the tables were consistently good (well done Sparky also for setting them!) - all except one which seemed to have a difficult 'break' and a shorter clock than the others. But still playable.
So I would say a big Vote of Confidence in the new arrangement following Hires 2 and 3, and a 'big thank you and well done so far' to Dave Alder & Co. 8-) 8-)

Hear, hear Tommo. It is all working very well and it is very gratifying for the people who 'invested' in the AEBBA tables.
We must all remember that Dave and his gang are giving their time freely and without payment and need all the help and encouragement possible. The last thing we need is that the volunteers get taken for granted by the end users and lose heart for the job....
Anyway a huge thank you to all concerned, from a tiny corner of Oxfordshire.... :)
cheers Tony

A fourth feather in the cap of Dave Alder: :)
The Surrey Organising body once again wish to express their gratitude for the smooth operation in table supply and collection for our recent weekend events held at Reigate - which included the BIOC Ladies.
Colleen Park deserves a special mention for 'mucking in' and helping with the dismantling on the Sunday but apart from that Dave seemed to have minimal help apart from his own family members.
A big 'well done' to the hardworking AEBBA Secretary. :)
