Limeburners 2 Dun Horse 3
Chip Sawyer 790 Dave Simmons 6890 Dave didn’t do much of the break, Chip uncharacteristically got to about 300 and missed a ball. It was all downhill for Chip from there as Dave then followed up with a 1500 and a steady 4500 break to finish the game.
Bill Hammond 1370 Grant 1580 Grant managed to keep his good form going with a rather tactical win over Bill.
Ken Vickery 5330 Scott Hope 2040 Scott came unstuck at about 800 on the opening break. Ken fared rather better with a 4k break. Scott from there didn’t really settle on the table.
B. Goodchild 1990 Stuart Hope 2120 Another tactical game that was decided after the bar had dropped. Fortunately, Stuart managed to make it safe before the last ball.
Les Etheridge 3400 Colin Bolton 2440 Capt. Colin started well on this one, with 1k+ on the break. Les came back to equal. Colin got another break going but at 1300 inexplicably put the break down 4 times, allowing Les back in for another 1k5. Although Colin came back well, the lost break cost him the game.
Unbelievably, the Dun have won 3-2. We must be on a roll! Speaking of rolls, thanks to Chip for the good food. Chips with Ham & Brie sandwiches. Cosmopolitan or what?? ;D Yet another appearance of Bill Hammond’s deadly pickled onions! :o

The Stout House 'A' versus Alfold Club
First game saw Alfolds 'Minor' versus The 'A's Captain Fantastic, Gordon. Minor missed the break with his first attempt letting Gordon in with a modest break. Both players were struggling with balls at the bottom, a bit nip and tuck as both notched up 1.5K on the board before Gordon hit a useful 1.5K as the bar dropped to take the game
'A's 1 - Alfold 0
Next Up Gaz for Alfold against Barman Adam. Gaz did a most spectacular break putting the red in the 50 and white in the 100 hole ::) was this the sign of things to come. he then found the proper break only to leave both balls up with his next shot. Adam took full advantage of the home table and racked up a steady 2K before letting Gaz back in. Gaz responded a little better this time and hit 2K to level up the scores. Adam's next visit to the table saw him hit 1K to slip into the lead and with Gaz struggling to get the break back took the second game.
'A's 2 - Alfold 0
Third up Robin for Alfold against the experienced John Tidy. Rob broke with a useful 1.5K whilst John struggled to settle, letting Rob push up his score. John then found his form to put a helpful 1K on the board, but beaten by the bar did not have the time to capatialise on his new found form.
'A's 2 - Alfold 1
Next on was Trevor ::) (all will become clear) versus Peter. Trevor broke in almost the same fashion as Gaz with the 50 and 100 pockets, however this was all that could be said for the rest of his game. Peter sensing a lamb to the slaughter took the initiative and played a steady game increasing his lead. Though he allowed Trevor the opportunity to get back into the game, Trevor was more intent in finding the white peg (4 times, YES 4 times ::)) With a few minutes to go Trevor actually managed to put a reasonable score together only to be beaten by the bar (Why is it I just cant do it at the start of a game) Hey ho victory for Peter.
'A's 3 - Alfold 1
Final game saw the Major versus Jimbo. Major broke convincingly putting 1.5K on the board before Jim's first visit, which did not amount to much. Major added more points and kept Jim at arms length for a while, but in vain as Jim won the break back and rattled in a good score to almost draw the score level. Major kept his head though and on his next visit to the table hit a match winning 1K.
'A's 3 - Alfold 2
G. Carver 3110 C. Greening 1940 A. Kuzinski 4600 G. Fishburn 3120 J. Tidy 1910 R. Burgess 3200 P. Hartley 2570 T. Goacher 1700 J. Norman 2280 M. Greening 3120
Yet another defeat for the Alfold boys, while the 'A's look to take advantage and push up the league table.
A great night, with some good laughs, great people and excellant food. Thanks to the Stout House for a very pleasant evening.

Southwater B 1 Stout House Z 4
Chris Budgen 190 Johnny 7660 Tom Darkins 8990 Andy 1060 ::) Gordon Ling 80 Denise 9670 Matt Senior 2020 Richard 5960 Chris Purkiss 280 Vernon 6760
The Zeds found the table to their liking, except Andy who left the one up short, ::) ::) and then watched as Tom put in a nice 8k break. Well played Tom.
Table played a lot better than the last time I played it, but still has a few quirks on it.
An enjoyable evening finished off with sausages and chips, which Gordon fetched from the chippy.
Everybody in the club (it seemed) cheered when Chelsea lost ;D although Vern wasn`t happy that Spurs lost to Wolves ;) 8-)
