There is a saying that I know, it goes like this….
“Don't live down to expectations. Go out there and do something remarkable”
I couldn’t remember where I read it, so I googled it and apparently is was by someone called Wendy Wasserstein. I of course have no idea who that is, but it doesn’t really matter. Those words have come back to me from time to time over the past few months, and it reminded me of a couple of people who I used to know very well, yet for whatever reason have lost contact with down the years. It’s one of the reasons that brings me here I guess.
Strangely enough, although it’s the reason I’m back, it’s also the very same reason I left.
Anyway, Hi everyone. My name is Glenn Chubb. For those that don’t know me I’m nobody important. I did however create and administer this forum.
And on that note I can’t say how happy I am to see it still kicking, and expanded even further from what I managed to do. I’ve already expressed my thanks to the staff for all there hard work, and especially to Sav who took this thing off my hands during a very difficult period in my life.
And on that, I’m sorry for my absence from this forum and any form of Bar Billiards, and anyone I knew threw Bar Billiards, however it was indeed necessary. But it’s good to see that everyone is still here, and the fact that the forum continues to grow. That was always my ambition, to create a place that was central for the Bar Billiards world, for discussion, debate and just for a laugh. To see this place doing as well as it is makes it all worth it, and to be honest I never thought I would say that.
One thing I would like to point out before I even start, I’m not a staff member, nor do I have any intention to be. At a recent party for a Bar Billiards friend, I was amazed that people who I didn’t know and had never met knew all about me, this forum, and some worrying details of my life! So I know I’m always going to be linked with this place, but I thought I would clear this up straight away. The Saville Squad is simply too good and don’t need me I’m pleased to say…
Anyway, I need some help guys….
I’ve seen many players of the years with different cue lengths and different cue weights. Naturally the longer ones tend to be more heavy, whilst the shorter ones tend to be lights. What I’m looking for is a long, but light Cue. Does such a thing even exists?
If it does, then where and how would go about getting it? I know there used to be a place somewhere called “The Potting Shed” where you could go and try out different cues, but alas I know not where it is, and google has been no help to me on this issue. So basically I thought I would ask around to see if anyone had any ideas. If anyone knows where the best place to purchase, try out cues is, then please drop me a line.
I’ll leave it there for now. Once again it’s great to see you all, and I hope that the last 3 years have been great for you all. Maybe, just maybe I’ll see some of you in the future :)
