Blue Ship 1 Dun Horse 4
Alan Maybee 1640 Scott Hope 2910 Scott didn’t do much with the break. That set the game up for a long slog at the top of the table with neither player making much. Scott managed to hold a few breaks towards the end which put him far enough ahead of Alan to take the game.
Colin Cathie 1590 Grant Hope 2090 Almost a carbon copy of the first game. Grant blew the break and Colin unable to do much. Colin ahead for most of the time. Grant in the closing stages managed to chalk up a couple of reasonable breaks to pull ahead and take the game.
Mick Johnson 6320 Stuart Hope 1420 This game started off very much like the first two. Half way however, Mick managed to get the break back and clock up 4k. Stuart still struggled leaving Mick in the closing stages to knock in another break and take the frame.
Steve Holden 3450 Dave Simmons 3870 Dave started the fourth looking quite comfortable with 2k5. Steve answered with just over 2k to keep the game close. Dave got back on but with 3k going miscued and took a peg out. Steve back in and on the break looked to have the game in the bag but broke down at just over 1k. Dave managed to get some balls to drop and bringing one ball back behind the left 50, played straight at it, hit the pocket, clipped the ball as it jumped 2 inches in the air and dropped in the hole without touching the sides! Break back, played out for just over 1k to take the game.
Ding Johnson 2180 Colin Bolton 2340 Capt. Colin did not start well. Neither did Ding. Similar sort of game to first two. Ding managed to stretch a lead of 1k which Colin seemed unable to dent. In the closing stages, Colin managed to get the break back for just over 1k to pull slightly ahead. Ding came back to leave a 100 hole finish. Ding just wide. Colin on, potted the 100 to take the game.
A fortunate 4-1 win for the Dun. With the exception of the 3rd game, every game was won with the last visit to the table.
A fun night with plenty of banter and chat finished with a mountain of hot sausages in French bread and wedges. Yum! :P

Three Bees 1 Stout House Z 4
John Tudhope 3280 Andy 3870 Mike Lennon 1410 Richard 2280 Dave Tomsett 2660 Vernon 1400 :P Steve Eely 1690 Jimmy 6550 Ron Child 3790 Johnny 4320
A very iffy table which no one really settled on, except Jim ;D The first two games could`ve gone either way, Vern in the third left the one up short and never recovered. ::) Jim got two good breaks in the fourth to beat Steve, who had no luck, and Johnny just managed enough to beat Ron.
A very enjoyable evening in a packed bar, finished off with some tasty sarnies and chips 8-)

Southwater B versus Alfold Club
Apologies in advance, did not make notes and on return from a few days off going to do this from memory.
The result as I recall was 3 - 2 to Southwater club. Both set of players made a reasonable contribution, with one or two out shining the others.
It was a great evening and really appreciate the effort to pop down the road to get sausages and chips.
Southwater B are a great team and really good to see youth is on their side.
The table played far better than I have experienced in the past, giving both sets of players the opportunity to put points on the table.
