Southwater 1-4 Roffey
Southwater's "Curse of the Home Table" continues. We did however manage a point on our home surface.
Roffey arrived early, so we got the first leg underway just after 8 o clock. How nice was it to start the match early and in turn be able to finish early and have an extra beer or two if driving?
Micky Fairs took to the top in frame one and look fine on the break for the first few shots. He had a problem with the split and came off very early. I then came on and althrough struggled at first hit a 4k break....only to peg it!!!!! Mick got back on to hit around 1k but allowed me back in. I hit another 2k break this time holding on long enough for the win. 1-0 Southwater.
Rick and Tom played in game two and it was the elder statesman who controlled this game. The top was a nice easy break but has turned at the bottom end with frogs in each pocket and a slope for every hole! Rick controlled it from start to finish with the home captatin unable to get going. 1-1
Dick took on Jeff in the third game. Solid if un-inspriing performance from Mr Cable but he did everything he needed to do in a solid fashion. Jeff had a major problem with the frogs and couldnt get anything going. 1-2
Pete and Chris played out leg 4 and the boys from Roffey were starting to show a much higher level of consistancy than the home side. Pete was in control from start to finish and won withot ever really being troubled. 1-3
John and Gordan played out the final leg. With Gordan unable to drink alcohol, it just didnt feel right and Im sure that put him off his game. Mr Miller took full advantage and steamed ahead to earn the Champions-elect a confortable 4-1 victory.
Good night with Roffey as always, topped off by Peterborough beating Sheffield United. Not that I was too ecstatic when we scored!!!!!
No scores Im afraid as Mr Darkins takes the score card.
