Stout A 3-2 Southwater B
A semi review here only as I didnt see all the matches.
Leg one saw John Tidy and Tom Darkins do battle. Throughout most of th match, it was an open battle that could really have gone either way. The breaks were found were ease but it was the rest of the table that proved a challenge with a "bit of a slope". John lost a break which could have won the leg and ultimately allowed Tom back in for a 1k break to seal the win with a 3.5k total. 0-1
Legs 2 and 3 I didnt see much of. Chris Budgen and Chris Purkiss took to the table for Southwater but failed toscore highly and both lost the legs.
Leg four was myself against Adam. Ive obviously trod in something this week as once again, I hit the ground running witha 2.5k break and this time didnt peg! Adam really struggled to get anything going and I added to my score to hit just over 5k to make it 2-2.
Leg 5 was Gordan against Gordan. Ling started off finding the right line for the break but coming up short. Carver took that as a sign to play a fantastic leg and gain a thoroughly deserved win. Hardly putting a foot wrong, Gordan Carver came in with just over 6k to tie the match up for the hosts.
Final Score....Stout A 3-2 Southwater B

Crown 1 Stout House Z 4 8-) John Thayne 1960 Richard 4980 Pete Barnett 1900 Andy 2130 Colin Barrow 2290 Vernon 3140 Dave Sands 940 Jim 6090 Rick `The Bench` Padfield 3970 John 960 A fun and enjoyable evening with plenty of banter, although no one mentioned the bench incident to Rick until he was just leaving ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Vern forgot his t-shirt but Jim had his on, sadly hidden under a shirt ;) ;) A great win for the Zeds, with only Junkie losing, finished off with some nice sarnies and chips. :) Attachments:

Once again, results from Scott:-
Result for last night was another miserable 4 - 1 defeat.
Railway 4 Dun Horse 1 M Clack 7610 Keith B/P S Merriott 5500 Colin 2780 M Cork 6900 (5400 break) Scott 1210 R Gardner 1510 Stuart 2470 N Worsfold 3360 Grant 2570
On the whole we all struggled with the table which was certainly favouring the home side.
Keith wasn't given the chance to get going with Mick scoring good consistent breaks. A final peg for Keith just about summed up the game.
Colin had some good shots but never really got into any rhythm and was chasing for points.
I couldn't gauge the pace of the table to make use of a few visits but respect to the opp who played a lovely game.
Pops up and being home from home secured the only win.
Grant could have taken this and was unlucky to let Nigel take the win.
Thanks to all at the Railway, a relaxed evening with good banter.

Firstly for those referring to the bench incident ;D ;D ;D, its going to go down in Billiard folklore.
OK serious stuff now the Match Report from Three Bees versus Alfold Club
Game 1 The 'Minor' for Alfold versus Ron. Minor first visit not that fruitful allowing Ron to step in with a useful 1K. After that it was pretty much a game of pushing balls around the table with both players struggling to win the break back. Ron's earlier 1K was enough to take the game.
Three Bees 1 Alfold Club 0
Next up Trevor versus Dave. Trevor missed the break completely allowing Dave the opportunity to take advantage, but could not get going. The table got very messy with all the balls at the bottom. Trevor did manage to scramble 600 points with some determined play, before knocking the white peg down :-[. After that neither player made much impact and the bar dropped to give the game to Dave.
Three Bees 2 Alfold Club 0
Third up Garry ' I've got a pint in' versus Steve. Another game starting slowly with Gaz missing the break first up. Steve accumulated points on the board to the frustration of his opponent. Gaz then managed to string together a series of small breaks to edge into the lead with the bar dropping. Steve needing the 200 hole to win the game took out the black peg in the process.
Three Bees 2 Alfold 1
Up next Robin versus John. Rob struggled with the break allowing John to put points on the board. Rob continued to struggle with the table and John took control with a break of 2.5K (highest of night) to clinch the game.
Three Bees 3 Alfold Club 1
Final game saw the 'Major' versus Linda. Major started with a modest break, leaving Linda the opportunity to push in front. Both players kept chipping away putting points on the board, but neither got the measure of the break. This was a close match, but Major held on to take the victory.
Three Bees 3 Alfold Club 2
R Child 2050 C Greening 1660 D Tonsett 1300 T Goacher 970 S Eely B/P G Fishburn 3150 J Tudhope 4620 R Burgess (did not write his score down ???) L Lennon 2410 M Greening 2960
The table did not play well, recently reset, but frankly not appreciated by the home team.
Good evening, pleasant company and great sandwiches and chips.
Cheers to all
