Both of these matches were played last night and resulted in a cracking evening. Mr. Jeffries and Mr. Newnham were up first and by the end of it Im surprised Jock wasn't hobblingly after shooting himself in the foot. Twice. He pegged a 6k break in the first but clung on to win and then, in the second, Darren had actually put his cue away when Jock somehow knocked down the black peg 60 seconds before the bar went. The fianl frame was close but a little 1k near the end was just enough to get Jock over the finishing line.
Andy and myself continued in similar fashion. I overturned Andys opening break and then he joined the black-peg club to give me what i thought was a secure 3k lead. Not so as Andy played some amazing all table shots to claw his way back to win on the last ball! I won the next with an exceedingly hard working 4k opener. The decider was scrappy. Andy opened with just 420 but i topped that and led off with 0. I tried my best but in the end i had lost by...well...400.
So it is to be a Jock and Andy final but, as maybe you can tell, i had thouroughly enjoyed the evening with some very entertaining matches.
Cheers to everyone last night and especially Ron, who scored some frames, got everyone a drink and kindly gave me a lift home. What a gent.
