Fish were wriggling on the hook, now laughing once more as "the one that got away"..........
This report, courtesy of the Old Fella:
Greyhound 1. Laughing Fish 4 (played on Tues 20th) The Laughing Fish got out of jail with a big win away to The Greyhound and get to stay in the Premier. Andy Brooks won a close first frame to put The Fish into the lead and Jim Ashford made it 2 when beating Peter Burchell. Aitch’s 6K was too good to Trevor Rees and the match had gone to Isfield. Just 1 more point needed to save Fish’s bacon and it came in the next frame as Ray Carpenter scraped a close win from Geoff Fairs. Last point to Neil Burchell to save the brush with a comfortable win over Chris Ashford.

Any doubt as to whether the Zeds were the Champions was removed as they finished the League programme with a flourish..............
Watermill A 1, Mill House Z 4
Norman Cragg 4100, Johnny Haigh 4340 Norman rallied well with a good break at the end but John had left him too much to do. Geoff Rose 2300, SuperG 6410 Geoff, in his first game, played some good shots during the table time that Graham allowed him. Rod Storr 1580, MrMike007 8710 Magnificent effort from Mick Chris Nikolaj 4940, Barry Timson 3280 Chris, fuelled with four helpings of excellent Lasagne (many thanks to Vicky - very tasty ! :-*) staged a brilliant 3k comeback to take one for the A's. Kim Stenning 5160, tommo 5560 Very cut and thrust this one, both players kept handing back the advantage, tommo on the table at the right time at the end.
Thanks to the 'other' 'Mill for an excellent evening on a really well-looked-after table which is a credit to them.
The B's arrived announcing they had beaten St Francis 3-2, Gavin Offord securing the match with a last-ball 100 in the deciding frame. This report provided courtesy of the Old Fella:
St Francis 2, Watermill B 3 Saints needed a good home result to keep in second place but failed to come up with the goods over The Bees. TSO put Saints into the lead, beating Mark Ridley but a Gavin Boyd victory over Roger Wallbank levelled it. A zero score for Manly Harveys gave The Flying Dutchman the third leg but Bob Ellis did enough to defeat Paul Blackburn and it was back to evens. It was right down to the wire with both Peter Geal and Gavin Offord needing 10 shots each to clear the last ball into the 100 pocket, and victory went to The Bees.

With grateful thanks to the Flying Dutchman and his team...........
Brewers Bravos 2 Eight Bells 3
Ros 3,600 Bravo 6,970 Trevor 1,910 Nikki 1,280 Nick 3,750 Spud 4,550 Tony Jenner 14,030 Paul M-R 1,660 Tony Driver 2,990 Lynne M-R 2,480
After I came off very early, Bravo took control of the game. Although I got the break back at the end, there wasn't enough time left to make much of a dent in his lead.
Nikki took an early lead and for a while Trevor struggled to pot a ball, but gradually he started to pull back and then overtake Nikki for the win.
Nick's opening break was going well at 2.5k when he caught a one up too thin and the ball went behind the 50. Spud was the first to get the break back and got a 4k break. A bit later, Spud got the break again, clocking up 6k+..... and losing it! Nick then got the break back, but with not quite enough time left to catch up.
With Doug unavailable this week, we'd called in TJ. TJ opened with 6k and later played the table out for another 7.5k, leaving Paul very little table time.
The decider was close all the way, but Tony D held his nerve well to take the win.
I think this will be the first time in the team's history that we have actually gained promotion to the premier league for ourselves - every other time we've been there it has been because new teams have joined the league and we've been 'shoved up'!
Many thanks to the Bravos for a good evening. Thanks also to the Brewers for the excellent hotdogs, chips and onion rings. 8-)

Morning. Thanks to Ros for the post. I tried to last night but the damn computer crashed on me when i had the report pretty much typed up although it looked kind of similar to what Ros had wrote. Very good games all of them for different sorts of reasons (although i was sorely tempted to hurl myself out of the window when i lost that break against Nick - what a numpty!).
Congratulations to the Eight Bells for their well deserved win and promotion. Congratulations also to Nick Brown and Bravo whom i believe are the 1 and 2 players in the division (probably turn out i am totally wrong on that one). Cheers to all we played this season for an excellent time and see some of you at finals night.

Congratulations also to Nick Brown and Bravo whom i believe are the 1 and 2 players in the division (probably turn out i am totally wrong on that one). I don't think you're wrong Spud: Working on from the last players list, both Nick and Bravo have won the same number of games and lost the same number of games, so the next decider is the average score. Nick's final average will be about 6138 and Bravo's about 5519 (they could vary slightly from that because the figures I'm using have already been rounded) So congratulations to Nick for being Div 1 player of the year and to Bravo for being runner up. Who is this Richard Spurrier who looks as if he's climbed into the third place? ;)

CKRBL 4 Plough L/B 1 - according to Dilly. This report provided courtesy of the Old Fella:
CKRBL 4, Plough L/B 1 Plough LB maintained their place in the runner’s up spot despite a severe defeat away to Kleiners. Dilly put the first game on the board defeating Mark Potter, and the same score for Derek Taylor over Steve Visor saw Kleiners 2 up. A 5K for Peter Edwards over a black pegging Mark Webber made it a match win for the home side. Malc Fuller pulled one back for the Plough with a win over Ted Stringer but the last point went Shaky Coles defeating Plough’s skipper Des Gasson.
United Services v Droops - postponed according to Jock.

Must say enjoyed my run out in Mid Sussex and a thoroughly enjoyable evening with the Bravos although expect Paul fed up with the sight of me in recent encounters. Good luck to the Eight Bells in the Plate semi final, when Doug is back to take his rightful place (although understand he is away for thr fhe final.

An excellent evening at the HH USC in good company that the Brewers Droops deservedly won 4-1
Ron Wales 1640 - 3690 Liam Churcher at just 16 Liam is showing good promise and easily beat Ron (played first but drawn as 5th game)
Chris Packham 860 - 6590 Andy F-Wright Chris wasn't allowed much table time as Andy played the table well.
Terry Gasson 2520 - 3020 Richard Jeffrey This game could have gone either way, especially a Jock struggled with the break but he managed to win right at the end.
Mick Kirwan 340 - 2810 Colin Humphrey Mick hasn't adjusted to the new left cushion yet and although Noddy was in pain he still won the game.
Graham Sparksman 4400 - 1280 Allan Humphrey The break had become tricky over the last couple of games and Allan impressed with his opening break by showing how it should be played but couldn't seem to keep it together after that. (drawn as 1st game)

Well done the Zd's again 8-) & Plough LB who stayed there this year.
Massive congrats to New boys Plough PG good to see you. & to The Eight Bells on a deserved promotion. Lets hope that next season it goes back to all plays all so we can still see everyone & play on all tables I much prefer it that way.

Lets hope that next season it goes back to all plays all so we can still see everyone & play on all tables I much prefer it that way. At last year's AGM the principle was agreed that 16 teams would be the "cut-off" point: the maximum number of teams for all-play-all would be 16. Any more than that and the divisions would be split, and not play each other. So providing we don't get any additional teams you should get your wish. ;)
