That's a point, they'll probably be mushrooms (but only three of course). Nothing in the rules to say they can't be mushrooms. ;) And they don't fall over so easily. ;D

Well, Pete, it is !
I would have loved to have had a chance of a competitive game of 4-pin, but unfortunately Wellingborough is the only known centre for it, and I'm stuck here down south.
I often set my own table up to play four-pin, and find that if you hit the mushrooms gently enough they don't go over, and you can 'use' them to make a shot where you want to drop a shot in round behind the 50 hole at dead weight.
I do hope that although you've now hooked up with the fabulous Northants boys at 3-pin, your own version isn't allowed to die out completely. But you now should be able to enjoy the best of both worlds ! 8-)

Tommo, why don't you call in at Wboro instead of swavesey?

It's just a little too far off our chosen route, Ian. We're doing a sort of arc round on our way to Gt Yarmouth, and can't really stray too far away from the A11.
Now if you boys were to organise another long-overdue Northants Open, I'd be there like a shot. ;)

im sure something could get organised however dont be too cock sure of the holes especially the 50 as four pin tables are longer and narrower . so in turn the angles are differant. you guys on 3pin can clock up two three thow easy just on the break BUT thats an excellant score for the whole game in 4 pin. game on , Jace lets get in sorted eh .

Tell you what, Pete the P, I have just discovered through some research that there are ten pubs in the East End of London with bar billiards tables.
Margo and I are going to have a day up there looking them up and trying them out.
I fully expect them to be 4 pin tables rather than 3 pin as bar billiards is virtually unheard of in London and I have chanced upon some in S W London previously.
If we find a suitable venue out of these we could maybe have a South v North challenge (4 pin of course).

Pete
Chris and I have discussed the return of the Northants open on many occasions and it maybe one for the future. We are usually so burn't out after the Jim Wilson Northants tournament that we tend to put it on the back burner!
Maybe we should do a poll on here and see what feedback and interest we get!!?
Cheers
Jase
