Week nine in the Abington Glass sponsored summer handicap league sees both Storm and Saints from group B qualifying for the semi finals. Both met this week in a 2-2 encounter which was enough for both sides to be safe, The Storm moved into a 2-0 lead courtesy of Jason Dunkley and Jon Coe.Gary Tipping and then Dave Wilton with Alan Taylor in the pairs leg ensuring that the summer season will continue for at least two more matches. In group A Burton Cons have secured their place in the semi finals with a 3-1 win against Rushden Cons, Ian Coleman winning both his singles and the doubles leg in partnership with Tom Ablitt, andy Chambers the only reply for Rushden. The Locomotive got their season moving again with a fine 4-0 win at home to The TNT, Wins from Duncan Sutherland, Micky Keen and Dean Rice, with Pete Sutherland and Micky Keen partnering for doubles success. The Exiles stay in second spot with a 3-1 win at Pink Ladies, Jellis brothers Ian and Paul with single success, the ladies pair of Sue and Michelle Higginson capturing the doubles frame. So there will be a flurry of activity in group A before the last scheduled games when the games in hand that some teams have will be played only then will we know who will join Burton Cons as the other semi finalist. The first leg of the semis will be played on Monday Sept 3rd and not August 27th as advertised. Noresult received from Cobblers v Frog & Fiddler.

We played TNT last night in a game that should have been next Monday, anyway Burton Cons 4 - TNT 0.
Loco have the Pink ladies at home next Monday and, Exiles have to play Rushden, oh well, looks like the thing will go to the wire.

Pink ladies canceled against the Loco tonight Mon 20th an told us to claim the points putting the LOCOMOTIVE on 23 points so the exiles really do need to win tonight 4/0 to stop us newcomers. ;D
