The new Lewes League season will start on Monday 27th September.
Eight teams to compete in the League this year..... one less than last season as, sadly, we have lost the Stand Up Inn :'( ..... and the Horns Lodge team have moved up the road to a new venue at the Cock Inn. ;D
The format for this year will be the League being played on a Home & Away basis, with a new League Cup Competition based on two pairs and one singles games, each game played over 2 legs, with players being drawn rather than nominated. With a point for each leg won and a bonus point for the aggregate win in each game, it should prove an exciting and interesting new competition. 8-)
Fixture Lists, new methods for reporting results and the rules for the new competition should be sent out in the near future..... which just leaves me to wish everybody an enjoyable new season. ;D

Just shows how different people like different things... yes, the Stand Up was a tough table... BUT it was playable, and to win your game you had to be able to read & adapt to the table quickly, I enjoyed playing there, it was a challenge

Part of the appeal of bar billiards for me has been the whole experience of visiting quaint venues in pretty villages, and sometimes winning or losing or the state of the table has been a supplementary consideration. I for one mourn the loss of the last venue in the charming location of Lindfield - and look back with fondness on happier times.

Stand up is a bloody good beer drinkers pub and I really like the place. I do agree about the table however!
