Excellent work Dave as always updated within hours of the event, always helps when you have people feed the information so well done to Dave Alder especially after a long day setting up running and then putting away the tables etc

Echo that. Good bit of co-operation.
Dave allows me to draw on his 'Latest News' section to give plaudits to players on the websites for the three Leagues 'north of the Downs': having reports done so quickly allows the news always to be fresh. 8-)

If anybody is interested in taking this job on, please can they contact me...

In all the excitement we seem somehow to have overlooked K.T.completely, he should have joined the list with this one in the 2012 Grand Prix (and there could be others...): Congratulations to Kevin Tunstall on his win today.... tremendous final with Phil Collins setting a target of 19,860 and KT catching him as the bar dropped and ending on just over 20k. :o 8-)

This is as far back as I have been able to go checking the AEBBA website.... KT moved down to Sussex from Oxford in 2006 so if there was an earlier one the information should be available to find out on this Forum. Further investigations reveal that KT was still representing Oxon in 2007, the County Championships of that year being the definitive point of change according to this quote from the County Championships History on the AEBBA website:

There's a slight conflict in information as per AEBBA as KT is quoted as a Sussex player on all the 2007 Open transcripts. Be that as it may, his best break that year was 'only' 17610 in the Sussex. So, I think we can take it that KT's 'maiden' 20k break for Sussex was the following: 20,800 in 2008 Oxfordshire Open, played at Didcot Conservative Club on 16/2/2008. Opponent was Keith Sheard who made 19,910 in reply ! ;D BUT.......... To make sure all bases were covered, I thought I'd better check elsewhere on the SCBBA website, and two earlier ones are mentioned on this page: ::) www.sussexbarbilliards.com/Sussex/SCBBA/High%20B-S.htmI think this proves without doubt that Kevin is owed a t-shirt ! ;D

My thinking of the 20k t shirt and the trophy is it is for players that make the breakthrough of getting their first ever 20k break. I will let someone check the records as to whether Kt had a 20k break as an Oxford player. For example if say Phil Collins started to play for Sussex and got a 20k break I don't think he would get a t shirt as its not his first ever. I could be thinking this wrongly but that is my interpretation of it

Whatever Jean, maybe no t-shirt warranted, but I think most would agree that the list of club members looks strange without K.T's name being included.
One thing's for sure, it's a good job they don't get a t-shirt every time it's done, or KT and Nigel would have bankrupted Sussex by now ! ;)

But glad you've pointed that out as others might not have realised. ;) I still think it's being a bit mean of Sussex if excluding KT from the list was intentional. It doesn't cost anything to add a line on a spreadsheet, surely? :-/

I think as Jean says the t-shirt has always represented someone making their first 20k break.
However it is a 20k club and yes KT (the Sussex version) has made several 20k breaks, so see no harm in adding him to the trophy and the website.
Very well done to H for making the break at the Smugglers, I scored it and he was rarely out of position, a lovely break.

Thanks Nigel, I don't now regret doing all that research this avo !
Knowing your fondness for tipping, mine for the next member of the 20k club is the Silver Fox - he's come very close a couple of times....

It certainly wasn't "intentional" leaving Kt off the list. As I'm the person who sorts the engraving on trophies I will be honest and say that it never crossed my mind as I thought it was for first timers. If someone would let me know the score to put on the trophy I will be happy to get it sorted although it will be a bit out of order.
I was under the impression flippant meant disrespectful, sarcastic, offhand but perhaps I'm wrong Whatever
